Claremont Burgers restaurant
in
Claremont Why write about a burger joint? It doesn't seem so odd if the burgers are more like a work of art than a meal.
3rd Hudsons are really onto a recipe for success. Great service, great portions and great fresh ingredients is at the order of the day. The best ground meats are selected and it is claimed to contain more than 20 % less fat than normal. The toppings are freshly made as well and include traditional favourites as well as more exciting options. Be sure to try the mint and jalapeno salsa, in itself an explosion of flavours. How does a perfectly cooked patty topped with tomato relish, biltong dust, chilli cream cheese and sliced battered jalapeno rings sound? Too good to be true? Not here.
The relaxed sense of humor on the menu is very refreshing and the Ba-rack-o-lama, or La Di Dah (with ostrich meat) are examples of this. For vegetarians they offer a delicious chick pea and lentil burger with fresh goat's cheese and avo.
This is a must-try and must-repeat experience.
Cape Town Burgers restaurant
in
Cape Town If you have ever wondered what real street food is, wonder no further. This little restaurant is located on arguably the busiest strip in Cape Town - Long Street.
Don't be fooled be the rustic (very rustic) interior. Just grab a high chair or a bench, order and await a new kind of delight. The Burger Shop, true to its name, offers mainly burgers, chips and stuff on rolls, but the portions are big and the nostalgia the street food evokes is something quite unique.
The dining process can become quite messy as it is 'illegal' to eat a burger with anything else than your hands, but this is part of the fun and colourful vibes that especially this part of Cape Town offers.
This is definitely not something to try if you prefer fine dining in a posh spot, but if you want a unique, proudly South African experience, pop in here.
V and A Waterfront Burgers restaurant
in
V and A Waterfront Situated near the Food Court in the V & A Waterfront, Dodge City Diner is one of four stores in Cape Town, and is the flagship. This 1950s American style diner is great fun for all the family. The retro decor reminds diners of days gone; with pop art on the walls and black and white checkered floors, ‘50s bubble gum pop blaring out of the juke box a visit to Dodge City Diner is a like a trip back in time.
An old fashioned burger bar, Dodge Diner only uses the best quality ingredients for all the items on the menu. All the burgers are homemade patties made from100% lean AAA grade beef and are flame grilled for that delicious barbeque flavour. There are healthier options on the menu too including salads and delicious grilled chicken sandwiches. A trip to a diner would not be complete without ordering one of the old fashioned homemade milkshakes, made with extra creamy ice cream. Dodge City Diner also has a mouth watering selection of Gelato, an ideal way to cool off on a hot summer’s day!
A perfect place to take the family for a treat, Dodge City Diner is fun, fast and great value for money.
V and A Waterfront Burgers restaurant
in
V and A Waterfront This fabulous burger joint is situated in the popular V & A Waterfront and delivers on location, ambience, service and most importantly, yummy food.
When you walk in the door you'll see the staff dressed in smart uniform surrounded by elegant, warm and upmarket decor. But this joint is far from pretentious. Gibsons definitely serves up some of the best burgers in town.
Although gourmet burgers with a wide variety of toppings are at the top of the list, the menu also offers ribs, steaks, chicken, fish and salad dishes.
Start off with tender calamari that literally melts in your mouth. Or try the messy, sticky pork ribs and Gibson's secret cream sauce that complements the sweet potato fries perfectly.
The meat they use for the burger patties is full of flavour and yo can taste that it is the best of the best cuts used. The Mr Chutney burger with cheddar, bacon and chutney is a must-try and, just to treat yourself more, have a bar-one milkshake made with real bar-one chocolate.
Informal, fun and comfort food with a modern twist is what this joint is all about.
For dessert, make it a real experience by teaming this with a Bar-One milkshake with real melted Bar-One chocolate!
City Bowl Burgers restaurant
in
City Bowl Enjoy one of the world's most classic dishes - with a twist. An experience at Gourmet Burger on the bustling Shortmarket Street in Cape Town is a must.
The small but cosy restaurant boasts funky décor and the interior and vibe is modern and vibrant, reflecting perhaps the remnants of the classic American-style diner.
The menu offers a selection of over 30 different burgers and there really is something for everyone. Diners can choose chicken, beef, lamb, veg, prawn or calamari to top the lightly toasted rolls. A must-try is the vegetarian Field Mushroom Burger topped with rocket, red pepper, avo and feta. Other favourites include the chicken, camembert and cranberry sauce burger and the lamb with herb mustard and blue cheese aioli. Wash it down with a Lindt chocolate shake - you'd be hard-pressed to be more indulgent. The restaurant is licensed and you can select delicious Paul Cluver wines to complement your meal.
The food is original, the atmosphere bustling and the prices reasonable.
City Centre Burgers restaurant
in
City Centre The menu bursts with gourmet burgers, salads and pizzas, but what draws diners to Hudsons are awesome burgers and seriously frothy shakes.
Perfect for lunch or dinner, a quick bite or little bit of indulgence, Hudsons in Kloof Street is the place to be for that all American burger fries and shakes.
Cape Town Burgers restaurant
in
Cape Town Mr Pickwick's is no doubt named after the entertaining and endearing Charles Dickens character of the Pickwicks Papers fame.
This quaint, yet vibrant restaurant has an extremely rustic feel to it, so do not expect an upmarket experience. However, if good conversation, scrumptious food and quirky furnishings are your thing, this is the place to go.
The restaurant has more of a student feel to it, so bring the youth inside you and join the clan.
The burgers are really filling and many a review has been written about them. It certainly is something to try. The most amazing milkshakes and ice creams are on offer and you will be astounded by the amount of flavours. From normal strawberry and chocolate to Turkish delight and caramel and almond.
Funky painted tins for light shades, vintage-style crockery, a bustling artsy atmosphere and good old comfort food is what you'll find at Mr. Pickwicks.
Gardens Burgers restaurant
in
Gardens This unique, characterful spot screams burgers, bikes, and beer. The interior is complemented by an old-fashioned jukebox, making you feel as if you've stepped into another era entirely.
Try the infamous 1 kg burger, or one of the delicious vegetarian meals should you not be feeling carnivorous. Saints has no less than six beer brews on tap.
Only 100 pure beef patties are served and the staff grind the meat themselves. The meat is accompanied by only the freshest ingredients and the restaurant does not skimp on quality or quantity.
Bring the rocker in you to this pumping spot in the vibrant Kloof Street, and rediscover a world of bikers, beer, giant burgers and ye olde rock and roll.
Century City Burgers restaurant
in
Century City Wimpy is practically a household name in South Africa and when you treat yourself to a visit you will see why.
The atmosphere is completely family friendly and relaxed and the food unpretentious but satisfying. Their menu offers a wide variety of meals, be it for breakfast or lunch. Breakfasts include the traditional English option to which you can add extras like mushrooms, yummy cheese grillers, bacon or hash browns. Other items include French toast, packed omelettes and special health breakfasts like muesli, fruit salad and the scrambled eggs and bacon breakfast wrap.
Wimpy is famous for their unique tasting burgers and diners have a myriad of choices. Even though there are a lot of variations on this classic meal on the menu, nothing beats a traditional Wimpy burger with cheese, their special relish and gherkins.
Top this off with a real diner-style milkshake or a tasty mega coffee and you'll almost certainly return. Wimpy is definitely a place for cheerful family fun.
