Brigadoon Guest House was the first bed and breakfast in Swakopmund to be registered with the Namibian Tourist Board in 1996, and since that time we have built up an enviable reputation for comfort and hospitality, for our impressive standard of service, and our ideal location close to the beach and at the heart of Swakopmund. This has recently been recognized by an award from the HAN, the Hospitality Association of Namibia. We have recently re-furbished all the guest rooms and landscaped the garden to further improve the ambience and tranquility which our guests value so much. During the day and evening, guests can live the high-life with all that Swakopmund has to offer, but when they return to Brigadoon, they do so to a haven of peace and quiet. In the morning, wake up to a full English breakfast served, as always, on the private patio overlooking the garden. Brigadoon Guest House is now firmly established on the A-list of accommodation in Swakopmund, guaranteeing a traditionally warm welcome, a comfortable stay and a truly unforgettable holiday break in Namibia's seaside vacation capital.

Tok Tokkie Trails is a leisurely, fully-catered and expertly guided two nights/three days walking safari in the incomparably beautiful NamibRand Nature Reserve. On the Tok Tokkie Trail guests do not only enjoy pristine nature, but also the amenities of the trail. An expert nature guide accompanies small groups of two to eight guests who are required to only carry a day pack - our service team takes care of all the chores and transports guests' luggage. After the day's walk through a picturesque landscape of vegetated dunes and gravel plains with a backdrop of mountain scenery, guests can enjoy a hot bucket shower with vista and take in the magnificent sunsets with a sundowner before the three-course dinner is served. Unforgettable nights are spent under the starry Namibian sky in the "room with an extra view". There are no rooms, rather guests sleep on comfortable stretcher beds under a billion stars. NamibRand Nature Reserve is a model for private conservation and low-impact tourism. The reserve integrates a number of former livestock farms into one huge protected area where wildlife can once again roam free. Comprising more than 170,000 hectares, the biodiversity is astounding and includes endangered cheetah, lappet faced vulture, and many of the Namib's famous endemics such as the Dune Lark and Grants Golden Mole, just to name a few. Midgard Country Estate is located 85 km northeast of Windhoek and only 72 km from Hosea International Airport in the unspoiled Otjihavero Mountains. An ideal family hide-away, first or last stop for International visitors, intimate meetings, team-building events or weddings. The founder of the Namibian Conglomerate, Ohlthaver & List, Carl List, originally acquired Midgard Country Estate in 1937. His son, Carl Werner List originally farmed the 12,000-hectare Estate and developed this private and intimate world: a household name in Namibia. Today you are invited into this very private world to enjoy the tranquility whilst marveling at the pioneering German Settler spirit, which gave birth to it all. Midgard, a word found in Old Norse, Middle English and High German languages has varying meanings but is popularly thought to be a paradise where the earth rises again, fertile and green, creating a protected world and a safe “empire” for the people. It is an intimate world of its own, which only offers 46 newly decorated and fully equipped rooms, the Main Dining Room & Bar, the Boma, two swimming pools and Pool Bar & BBQ, Gym and Sauna, private Skittling Alley or Kegel Bahn all spaciously situated in a vast sprawling country garden bordering the banks of the Swakop River as it meanders through the Estate on its way to the Atlantic Ocean at Swakopmund. Activities consist of either doing absolutely nothing or discovering Hiking and Mountain Trails, driving along 4x4 tracks, playing Volley Ball, Tennis, Table Tennis or outdoor Chess, guided star and sun gazing with our resident Astronomer, and then viewing the Vintage Car Collection. One of the Estate’s major attractions is a Sundowner Drive or Nature Game Drive to Hilltop for an amazing sunset accompanied by traditional “sundowners”. Morning and afternoon Nature Game Drives through the separate 2,000-hectare Nature Reserve along the Swakop River will open up an experience clearly confirming what life was like on a traditional Namibian Farming and Game Estate in years gone by. Wildlife found here includes Giraffe, Blue and Black Wildebeest, Oryx, Kudu, Hartebeest, Eland, Warthog, Baboons, and smaller antelope species such as the Steenbok. Birding along the riverfront can also be rewarding.
