About Schaapplaats Farm Cottages

The Schaapplaats Cottages are stone cottages set in the sandstone amphitheatre of the Maluti Mountains, 6 km from Clarens. If you are looking for a tranquil family holiday in a beautiful setting, this is it. Theses sandstone cottages were built before the turn of the century and they provide comfortable accommodation.

There are three fully self-catering cottages that have each been individually decorated. We have the Golden Mole Cottage, the Jemina Puddle Duck Cottage and the Guinea Fowl Cottage. The cottages offer Old-World charm in a farm setting. They are fully equipped for all self-catering needs and there are braai facilities available.

Loved it all really! Especially the horses...very pretty goats and friendliest dogs on the world. Landscape is breath taking!

Perfectly placed if you don't want to be in Clarens proper and rather enjoy the countryside. Close to lovely walking trails and an opportunity to see rock paintings. The Jemima Puddleduck cottage is quaint and cosy, just watch your head if you are tall! I enjoyed early mornings at the table in the garden with my tea watching the farm (and the animals) wake up for the day. The dirt road to the farm is not great, but Christine is an attentive host and I would recommend this as a pleasant place to stay near Clarens.
