Things to do
Yes, you drive through this little town thinking, okay, it's so small, until you put on your walking shoes and start walking. The undiscovered gem
Fouriesburg is an undiscovered gem, especially if you don't want to stay in the bigger or busier places like Bethlehem and Clarens. It is a brilliant place to use as 'base camp' and travel to Bethlehem [45 km], Clarens [35 km] or the Lesotho border [8 km]. For Cherrie Festival time - Ficksburg is also quite close, just can't remember how far.I love photography, so I love going off the beaten track. The gravel roads in the area are well maintained. I did a gravel road trip to Paul Roux and on many of the roads going to farms - all of it without any hassle and all of it in a normal sedan.
Review of Fouriesburg
Fouriesburg is a very pretty little town, and efforts should be made to upgrade the infrastructure but to retain its character. What needs to be done is to clean-up the streets & sidewalks, and both home owners & business owners should participate in this effort. Municipality should promote the town and promote its tourist attractions.
