About Nwanedi Country Manor

Welcome to Nwanedi Country Manor.

“The passion of the NWANEDI experience is inspired by the mystical legends of the Vhavenda people where culture meets Africa in the tranquility of Paarl”(“NWANEDI” translates from the Vhavenda tongue as ‘a place worthy of celebration’).

The Country Manor surrounded by red wine vineyards graces the summit of the First Dawn ridge on Nwanedi Estate, encapsulating the mysteries of the past nurturing the passion of the Nwanedi experience and wines. With luxurious colonial décor and traditional hardwood furniture complements the majestic and beautiful mountain views, creating a tapestry of imaginative tales from the past.
The luxuriously spacious rooms are fully equipped with modern conveniences, the finest king-size extra-length beds and fine percale linens, HD cable television, air-conditioning, complimentary WiFi, full bathrooms (bath and separate shower). Breakfast and dinners are served daily in the open dining room and terrace and prepared passionately with seasonal fruits, produce, herbs and spices harvested daily for freshness, ensuring an extravaganza of traditional country fare.

The founders, Jean & Gavin Stork were inspired by the natural beauty on the Nwanedi region, endeavoured to replicate this perfection in developing the estate, capturing the essence of the Winelands, offering renewed peace and tranquility to those who dare to experience NWANEDI.

Our large, spacious en suite room was a pleasant surprise - as were the gorgoues view, ouma rusks, filter coffee and every other thoughful little touch. As one of THOSE people who travel with their own pillows as hotel beds are inevitably never as comfortable as home. We were pleasantly surpised that this was not the case as Nwanedi :)Our only disappointment was not having more time to explore the farm - and taste the wine!I highly recommend the Nwanedi country manor to any Nantes wedding guests.Thank-you Jean for a wonderful stay!

Adventurers climb inside a huge inflated transparent ball and then gravity does the rest. Zorbers can roll down slopes, along tracks or run in their ball on a body of water – but no matter what option you take zorbing is great fun!

This is a living museum with interactive exhibitions situated in the Oude Pastorie. They have a superb collection of Cape antiques, artifacts, documents and photographs that portray the collective heritage and development of Paarl and the Afrikaans...

Plaisir de Merle

On the rolling foothills of the Simonsberg Mountain, Plaisir de Merle follows a wine-making philosophy designed to translate the natural aspects of the soil and vines into the wine. Tastings are done in the Tasting Centre, once an old barn which...
