Hog Hollow Country Lodge
About Hog Hollow Country Lodge
Hog Hollow Country Lodge is a 4 Star lodge set on the edge of an indigenous forest; in a private nature reserve with panoramic views of the surrounding indigenous forests, valleys and mountains. The lodge is located in one of the most beautiful parts of Africa - the Garden Route. All of our 16 Luxury Suites have private decks overlooking these vistas, offering guests relaxed luxury in an unforgettable setting.
Each Suite offers a king-size bed, a fireplace, a hammock and handcrafted artifacts. Guests can sleep comfortably in crisp linen and there is a special turndown each night. On chilly winter nights, we slip a hot water bottle between the sheets just in case the cosy fireplace isn’t enough. Each room is fitted with a minibar and a mini Hi-Fi, but there is no television or telephone. The main house forms a communal dining area leading down to a long, blue swimming pool that visually flows into the valley below. There is also a boma deck where nightly fires are lit.
Hog Hollow Country Lodge is well-known for its delectable food. On crisp and clear days, our farmhouse breakfasts are served on the wooden deck overlooking the forest, or near the huge fireplace on cooler days. In the evenings, guests can enjoy scrumptious candlelit dinners around the communal table. Meals are prepared using only the freshest of local produce. The set menu includes a selection of main course of which fish, prawns and crayfish are daily features. Guests with specific dietary requirements are catered for individually and children receive special mealtimes and menus.
Other attractions include a forest sauna and a privately sited forest shower with incredible views over the valley. Expect outstanding cuisine, numerous activities to suit each guest, and truly memorable hospitality from our team. For the adventurous, the lodge is the perfect base from which to explore and experience numerous adventure activities. We are renowned for our personalized service and we will gladly assist you with the planning and booking of daily excursions. Our guests' cars are washed daily with the compliments of Hog Hollow, and children are most welcome. We organize babysitting, special turndowns with a glass of fresh milk and a gingerbread man, children's stories and CDs, buckets, spades and boogie boards. Hog Hollow Country Lodge is closed for the month of June, but we are open for reservations all year round.
Please note that we are set on the edge of a gorge, so our landscape profile is very steep. We also have unfenced dams and an unfenced pool on the premises, so parents are kindly requested to accompany their children at all times when around these areas. Hog Hollow is closed for the month of June, but we are open for reservations all year round.
