Town of Zambia
Beautiful, rural & untouched
Siansowa, wild and untouched, forms part of the greater Gwembe Valley that stretches from Victoria Falls to below the Kariba Dam wall, an area still undeveloped and pristinely beautiful.Wildlife to be found in the area of Siansowa includes kudu, impala, puku, bushbuck, duiker, warthogs, ostrich and an abundance of resident birdlife. Livingstone is a world-class tourist destination, with a huge amount of activities. All the locals we interacted with were extremely friendly and helpful. All the activities we participated in, were well organized and executed. Apart from the chaos that is the Zambian customs and immigration at Katima Mulilo, I cannot recall a single unpleasant memory of our stay in Zambia and Livingstone.
Amasing people of Livingstone.
We had the most incredible experience with not only the people of Livingstone , but Zambians in general. We had the misfortune of a wheel coming off our bakkie , this resulted in us spending two day's on the roadside, some 90 k's out of Livingstone. The amount of assistance we were offered was incredible and included , actual manual labour, driving me to Livingstone and back to the car with parts and just coming to check on us.
OfferThrough SafariNow.com we booked and stayed at the Sunbird Lodge in Livingston for 2 nights. We had a roomy apartment at the back of the main house. The ownwers made us very welcome and the place was fresh and clean althouh everything was old and n bot run down.Livingston is a quaint little town just over the Zambian border. The main through road is lined with interesting shops and stalls .There is a lovely African Art Market in which we spent an enjoyable afternoon and came awy with lovely souveniers which did not cost us a fortune. The town definitely has an African vibe. The people are frien...see more
The Zambian side of Victoria Falls
The attraction of Livingstone is undeniably the Victoria Falls and the history of this beautiful place. The Zambian people are very welcoming and friendly, it was nice to be able to move about a small African town without being hasseled for money. It is basic with one shopping centre, our car hire at the airport was disappointing as our reserved car was rented to somebody else and the replacement wasn't good. The hotel was in a lovely position, although 5 star they didn't provide an airport shuttle service. Not much choice of restaurants to eat in in town but you are able to eat in other hotel...see more
Town of Luangwa Parks Region
Dusty little town
Yes, there are some reviews and description of Mpika. Just brows the web and you’ll find information, facts and figures. But all this reviews cannot describe the simple fact that this little dusty town, fare away from any civilisation is home to the most friendly, helpful and charming people along Great North Road in Zambia. The filling station attendant, who will recommend the best mechanic. Or the taxi driver, who brings you to the guesthouse of your choice. And please don’t forget all the marketers, competing with their fresh products.Yes, Mpika is called a town, but the mentality of the...see more
