Situated on the outskirts of the charming town of Montagu, De Bos Guest Farm offers nature lovers a relaxing retreat deep within the rugged beauty of the Karoo in the Western Cape. The farm offers a variety of accommodation choices. There are three en-suite guest rooms and four bungalows with a variety of bed configurations. These options make use of a communal kitchen and shared braai facilities. The property has a private cottage ideal for couples. It has one en-suite bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and outside braai facilities. There is also a converted barn which is a great choice for backpackers. It has six stalls accommodating two guests each, and two bathrooms. The more adventurous guest will not be disappointed as there are many rock-climbing and mountain-biking opportunities available in the surrounding area. Guests hoping for something more relaxing can visit the hot water springs, museums, wine estates and nearby restaurants. The farm provides an idyllic escape away from the stress of city life, while the panoramic views of the surrounding forest and mountains inspire a sense of calmness. Guests hoping to truly experience nature can also camp on the farm while listening to the sounds of birdlife all around.

William and Karin welcome you to Keisie Cottages, cosy farm holiday self-catering mountain cottages on a beautiful fruit and wine farm in the Keisie Valley, 20 km outside of Montagu. Our farm is just below the world famous tractor ride on Protea Farm. Keisie means Pretty Water in San, and the Keisie Valley is renowned for the flavour and quality of its fruits and wines. The farm is called Vredendal, which means Peace in the Valley and it certainly is very peaceful here. We grow grapes, apricots, peaches, quinces and gooseberries and in season you can pick and eat straight from the trees, or watch us harvesting. We have a lovely swimming pool with a wooden deck and gazebo, surrounded by two hectares of roses . Stroll around our herb garden and help yourself to herbs for your salad or potjiekos. Try our home made jams. A real farm stay close enough to Montagu to enjoy the Hot Springs and wine routes and wonderful restaurants that Montagu has to offer, as well. There are lovely hikes, including a lovely hike to our rock pools (very rough) and paths that can be used for mountain biking. The mountain views are stunning. We have three charming restored farm cottages, next to each other, and one larger Gooseberry house which is great for bigger families and very private. Each cottage is a quaint, cosy environment with a traditional fireplace to ward off those chilly Cape winter nights. All linen provided. The Keisie Valley is the perfect retreat. There is no cell phone reception and there are no TVs in the cottages. Towels are provided. Your chance to introduce your kids to the real world. They can hike, bike, or just play outside!

We are situated a mere two minutes' walk from the Montagu Nature Garden, and our garden is visited by a large variety of bird species. Our rooms are tastefully decorated with every conceivable home comfort, and our linen is of the finest 100% cotton percale. All our garden rooms are en-suite, equipped with selected DStv, free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, a welcome tray with tea and coffee, and bar fridge. All rooms have private entrances and patios with braai facilities. Rates quoted are on a Room Only basis, however breakfast is available upon request at an additional charge of R120. The private, renovated farm cottage is self-catering and sleeps four to five people. A fully equipped kitchen with fridge and stove, as well as heaters and a fan provide for your comfort. All linen, feather duvets, blankets and towels are provided too. Enjoy romantic meals outside on the wooden deck with stunning views of the mountains and farmlands, or snuggle up indoors in front of the cosy fireplace. Laze in the hammock watching birds and listening to the frogs singing in the seasonal stream - a great place for children to explore. There is a braai and fire-pit in the garden where you can lose yourself under the stars. Situated on the little farm called Vredenshoogte, which means Peaceful Heights, or as a friend once put it “The Height of Peace. We are on the “Fruit Route” in the Keisie Valley, 25km outside of Montagu, at the foot of the Burgers Pass. There are lovely walks with stunning views and mountain biking routes. Seasonal fruit, almonds, sunflower seeds, herbs and vegetables are available for sale and there is a variety to taste from the “Dew Delights” range. We make all sorts of delicious jams, jellies, chutneys and conserves from our produce. Being nestled at the foot of the Langeberg Mountain range we often have snow- covered peaks in winter – a veritable winter wonderland. Spring flowers abound and the fruit trees are a picture in bloom. In summer one can experience the abundance of nature as the trees lay heavy with apricots, peaches and almonds. The vines are harvested in late summer and wine is made locally as well as the famous Montagu Muscadel.  We would love to share this little piece of paradise with you.

The main house and guest units were designed by the host's award-winning designer and daughter. Aasvoëlkrans is steeped in a tranquil Platteland atmosphere with the magnificent red sandstone rock formations of the Little Karoo as backdrop. Guests can choose from three guest units with large bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms. All of the rooms are decorated to reflect the rustic ambience of the area. Situated in the Little Karoo, the town of Montagu is about 180 kilometers from Cape Town, and 200 kilometers from Oudtshoorn, the Little Karoo's ostrich capital. Outdoor activities in the area include visiting the hot springs, rock climbing or taking the popular tractor ride to the top of the Langeberg Mountains. The rates for children are R50 per person. Out of season you can enjoy a 20% discount on all tariffs. The rates for a single person depend on the occupancy at the time of booking. Aasvoëlkrans is a stud farm, so it offers facilities of the outdoor kind. In summer, cool off in the private swimming pool, or go hiking in the mountains. There is plenty of sunshine in the large garden, and when the sun goes down, experience the romanticism of bright starry nights. The guest units each have a large bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.
