the town is small and most houses needs attention. there are no shops in town and the 2 caf'es is not impressive. going into town gives you an impression neglect. Here and there there are some houses that are well kept. thank goodnes that the B and B where we stayed were on standard with a lovely view. don't go there if you want any exitement - there is nothing to do!

A sad little town that has missed the opportunity to capitalise on its great views and the dramatic waterfall. SAPPI should be ashamed that they have not contributed more to uplift the community, who are their workforce.

The stay was relaxing - here you can relax in nature - nice and peaceful. Note to Rocky Drift, please built a games room for the kids, they will enjoy that.

Very kind hospitallity, great B&B, rooms are ok, food was excellent, different terasses makes the ambient even better, and the view is stunning.
The village itself is boring, but we went Badplaas to visit the animals.

The suggested Bistro was closed on Friday and Saterday, and only voicemail on the cell. No. on the wall. Not much to see or do in the town, found a General dealer in the begining of town on the right hand side that stock EVERYTHING! From meat to building materials. Visited quite a few other establishments and all looked very nice and very, very clean and tidy.

Waterval Boven is a quaint little town set in beautiful surroundings. There are many different activities in the area from rock climbing to mountain biking and sightseeing. It is a great getaway from city life. The people are friendly and accommodating.

This town has no shops or decent café/restaurants. The Shamrock Arms was great for drinks but restaurant only for guests. For dining options you'll need to leave the town.

Great as a short break pre- or post safari. Good for walkers, mountain climbers and anyone interested in archaeology.
