Nestled in an idyllic setting between Dullstroom and Belfast, Little Troutbeck offers great accommodation to nature-loving groups visiting this part of Mpumalanga.

This property is situated on a working farm and offers stunning views of the Elands River Valley. This picturesque farm also has 11 dams which not only provide crystal-clear water, but is also stocked with a selection of trout for fly fishing.

There are three comfortably furnished cottages with a variety of layouts to cater to cater to the needs of travellers. Most cottages have verandas or balconies overlooking the scenic surroundings. Some cottages also have cosy fireplaces for those chilly winter nights. These cottages are powered by gas or solar power.

Guests can spend their days exploring this beautiful farm. Water enthusiasts will be kept busy while nature lovers can take long walks with their four-legged friends. However guests choose to spend their time, they can rest assured that they will have an unforgettable holiday experience.

Troutmere offers modern self-catering accommodation, only six kilometers from Belfast on a Trout fishing farm. The property provides a beautiful backdrop for the nature lovers, in a landscape of beautiful natural surroundings.

The accommodation is provided in a large double-level lodge, set on the bank of a stocked trout dam, with views of the dam and wetlands of Lakensvlei. The lodge has four en-suite bedrooms each with a fireplace and views of the wetlands. The downstairs level has an open-plan living area. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and includes a double door fridge-freezer, microwave and all cutlery and crockery. This open-plan area is warmed by an indoor fireplace for those cold winter nights. The living area leads out onto a large wooden deck with braai facilities, facing the dam.

Guest are welcome to fish, and a small charge is payable per fish caught. The farm is also a bird lover’s paradise with a total of 128 species to be encountered, including the water fowl, secretary birds and cranes. Troutmere also offers game viewing, and many paths to explore.

Guest interested in jewellery making can visit the old farm house which was refurbished to provided training courses the creative arts; glass and in gold and silver jewellery manufacturing. Guests can make their very own jewellery to take home with them.

Accommodation is offered in 16 luxurious Double Rooms, with en-suite bathrooms. Hot water bottles are provided on cooler evenings and tea and coffee-making facilities are also available.

In addition, the Belfast Royal Hotel provides excellent cuisine and the Royal Spa, where guests are pampered and rejuvenated. The Royal Theatre is an ideal conference venue, seating some 100 delegates, while it transforms into a real live theatre once a month, with shows by contemporary South African artists.

The hotel opened its doors in 1873 for the exhausted travellers who arrived at the station. They were transported by royal coach to the warm hospitality of the hotel, a log fire and a hot meal. Those who slept over received hot water bottles, hot soup and hot chocolate. The brave, among the travellers, never said no to a glass of the finest Cape Sherry.

Whether you are looking for a bed and breakfast or self-catering chalet, a location for a function or small conference, or just a quiet weekend of trout fishing, this is the place for you.

Situated just off the N4 between Belfast, Machadodorp and Dullstroom and within easy reach of the Blyde River Canyon, Pilgrim's Rest and the Kruger National Park, it is an ideal base for touring and a perfect location for a quiet break from the city for the busy executive or family.

Accommodation consists of one-, two- and three-bedroom self-contained chalets, as well as spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments with private balconies in the Main Lodge. All have extensive views over the property and the dam, and are fully-equipped for self-catering, complete with bedding and towels.

All chalets feature a fully-equipped kitchen, lounge and dining room, with a cosy log fire and quality furnishings. The bedrooms are furnished to an equally high standard and each chalet has its own gardens, deck and outdoor braai, for which firewood is provided at no extra charge. All accommodation is also serviced daily. The Main Lodge apartments offer a private balcony and gas fireplace, a large lounge with TV, and a separate, fully-equipped kitchen.

The Main Lodge building and attached function rooms feature a bar, restaurant, private function and conference room, as well as an indoor braai and lapa, all of which are available to guests. Advance booking of these facilities is essential.

Activities at Greystone Lodge include trout fishing, game and bird-viewing, scenic walks and trails, clay pigeon shooting, and golf driving. Horse riding and archery are also available at neighbouring farms, and the 18-hole golf course at Belfast is open to our guests for a small charge.

The accommodation at Forelwater is unique and comfortably decorated. The two fully equipped self-catering cottages overlook a beautiful 12-hectare dam which is regularly stocked with rainbow trout. The setting is very private, and each cottage has its own braai area and borehole water.

Forelwater has been a favorite venue for trophy fishing since 1997. Many experienced fishermen and -women return to visit this venue time and again. Forelwater guests are able to fish from the banks, from weirs or from two boats which are supplied; endless hours can be spent float tubing as well.
