Kambaku River Lodge is in the heart of the Lowveld, surrounded by mountains – with a 180 degree vista of the Crocodile River and the Kruger National Park, home to the Big Five. Kambaku River Lodge is privately owned by Tony and Leanne Santana and takes its name from one of the legendary Magnificent Seven big tusker elephants.

A maximum of 12 guests per night, can enjoy the luxury serviced 3 bedroom house or separate self-contained suites or units, with superb views of the river and Kruger National Park. All self-catering or bed and breakfast on request. All bedrooms have an option of King beds or twin beds, dressed in percale linen with down duvets.

Regular sightings of hippo, large herds of elephant and buffalo, rhino, leopard and many more interesting species can be viewed from the comfort of your room or patio. Leopard have been sighted on numerous occasions. A haven for the bird lover with an abundance of birdlife all year round, providing many photographic memories.

The cry of the fish eagle is often heard as it soars high in the sky epitomising the heart of Africa. Tranquil evenings around the fire experiencing the African sounds and starlit nights. Self-drive to the Kruger National Park or we can arrange one of the many specialised safari excursions that are offered in open game vehicles.

Hennie’s Rest is situated on the banks of the Crocodile River overlooking the Kruger National Park a mere 5 km from Malelane Gate, the famous Leopard Creek as well as the Malelane Golf course and 45 km from Komatipoort Golf Course and famous Sophie’s Bistro. We are 50 km from Mozambique, 40 km from Swaziland and 5 km from sport facilities like golf, tennis, squash, bowls, rugby and a gym. All are available for day visitors.

This spacious self-catering house has three bedrooms, a living and dining room, own kitchen and patio, all fitted with air-conditioning. Bedroom 1 has a double bed with river view. Bedroom 2 has a king-size bed, an en-suite bathroom, and a balcony and river view. Bedroom 3 has a queen-size and a single bed. The house can accommodate up to seven people.

To virtually be on the river with drink in hand, steak sizzling on the fire, whether game spotting, bird watching or simply enjoying an awesome African sunset is a truly memorable experience. Look out for the leopard that makes his appearance every now then, and elephant sometimes drink from the swimming pool. Alternatively laze in the pool or bask in the Malelane sun while observing crocodile and hippo in the river below, listening to the Fish Eagle’s call in the distance.

Being situated on the 'Maputo Corridor' N4 and forming part of the wild frontier of Mpumalanga, Malelane is the ideal place to stay, be it for business, holiday or leisure.

All chalets have two spacious bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms, comfortable lounges with satellite TVs, fully equipped kitchens and a full view of the amazing wild life the Kruger has to offer.

Paradise Creek offers comfortable self-catering accommodation on the doorstep of the Kruger National Park; the Malelane Gate is only 5 km away.

Paradise Creek is nestled between large indigenous trees in a lush garden. Guests can relax in the self-catering chalet and double or single rooms. The self-catering chalets are fully equipped with bedding and towels are provided. Guests only need to bring their swimming towels. The chalets also have their own braai facilities. All the units have air-conditioners and are smoke free. The rooms have TVs but DStv is only available in the communal area. There is a restaurant on-site, which serves an á la carte menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The town of Malelane is just a short drive away and it offers guests a place to stock up on groceries, draw money at the ATM or fill up on fuel before heading to the Kruger National Park. Nearby activities include, horse riding, quad biking, hiking, elephant back safaris and game drives. Paradise Creek is an ideal stopover for those en route to Mozambique or Swaziland.

All our guest cottages are en-suite and are individually decorated. Each cottage is individually air-conditioned and is equipped with a fridge, microwave oven, TV with six channels, crockery, cutlery, soap, shampoo, hairdryer, linen and towels. Complementary coffee and tea is also provided.

Office hours are from 07h00 to 19h00 daily. A staff member is on duty for emergencies 24 hours a day.

Pumba Cottage and Timon Cottage are back-to-back units that are identical and can sleep two people each. The larger Zazu Cottage is ideal for a family of four.

The Big Tusker Bush Camp is located in Marloth Park and it shares the Crocodile River border with the Kruger National Park. There are many species of game and birds which can be found within the park. We are 25 km from Malelane and 20 km from Komatiepoort and the Crocodile Bridge gate. The property is not fenced which allows many animals to roam through the camp. Lions, buffalo and rhino are fenced in an enormous tract of bush called Lionspruit, which is within Marloth Park. During the day, you are allowed to walk or cycle through the park.

The Big Tuskers Bush Camp is designed for physically disabled guests to enjoy the bush. We can accommodate eight guests, two per chalet. Children under five years of age stay free if sharing the chalet with their parents. Each chalet has its own bathroom, fridge, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery. The kitchen is shared by all of the chalets and it is fully equipped. There is a braai area and the chalets are serviced on request. The cleaning lady charges R50 on weekdays and R75 on weekends. She will also cook for you should you desire, but an extra charge will be levied. You are requested to bring your own swimming towels and torches, should the electricity fail.

Guests may elect to visit one of the many restaurants in the area, or may wish to self-cater in our modern, fully equipped kitchen. By prior arrangement, and at a small surcharge, breakfast will gladly be served on our terrace to the sights and sounds of the resident hippo family frolicking in the Crocodile River below the lodge. Our game viewing deck provides the ideal vantage point to observe the regular occurrence of elephant and buffalo feeding in the reeds in front of the lodge.

The Malelane Gate, the southern gateway into the Kruger National Park, is a mere five minutes away from Khandizwe. Guests may elect to self-drive into the Kruger via the Malelane Gate, or we can arrange specialised safari excursions in search of Africa’s Big 5. These open vehicle game excursions include either morning, afternoon or full day trips. We are also able to arrange bush walks and night drives inside the Kruger National Park.
