Hennie’s Rest is situated on the banks of the Crocodile River overlooking the Kruger National Park a mere 5 km from Malelane Gate, the famous Leopard Creek as well as the Malelane Golf course and 45 km from Komatipoort Golf Course and famous Sophie’s Bistro. We are 50 km from Mozambique, 40 km from Swaziland and 5 km from sport facilities like golf, tennis, squash, bowls, rugby and a gym. All are available for day visitors.

This spacious self-catering house has three bedrooms, a living and dining room, own kitchen and patio, all fitted with air-conditioning. Bedroom 1 has a double bed with river view. Bedroom 2 has a king-size bed, an en-suite bathroom, and a balcony and river view. Bedroom 3 has a queen-size and a single bed. The house can accommodate up to seven people.

To virtually be on the river with drink in hand, steak sizzling on the fire, whether game spotting, bird watching or simply enjoying an awesome African sunset is a truly memorable experience. Look out for the leopard that makes his appearance every now then, and elephant sometimes drink from the swimming pool. Alternatively laze in the pool or bask in the Malelane sun while observing crocodile and hippo in the river below, listening to the Fish Eagle’s call in the distance.

Being situated on the 'Maputo Corridor' N4 and forming part of the wild frontier of Mpumalanga, Malelane is the ideal place to stay, be it for business, holiday or leisure.

A maximum of 12 guests per night, can enjoy the luxury serviced 3 bedroom house or separate self-contained suites or units, with superb views of the river and Kruger National Park. All self-catering or bed and breakfast on request. All bedrooms have an option of King beds or twin beds, dressed in percale linen with down duvets.

Regular sightings of hippo, large herds of elephant and buffalo, rhino, leopard and many more interesting species can be viewed from the comfort of your room or patio. Leopard have been sighted on numerous occasions. A haven for the bird lover with an abundance of birdlife all year round, providing many photographic memories.

The cry of the fish eagle is often heard as it soars high in the sky epitomising the heart of Africa. Tranquil evenings around the fire experiencing the African sounds and starlit nights. Paradise Creek is nestled between large indigenous trees in a lush garden. Guests can relax in the self-catering chalet and double or single rooms. The self-catering chalets are fully equipped with bedding and towels are provided. Guests only need to bring their swimming towels. The chalets also have their own braai facilities. All the units have air-conditioners and are smoke free. The rooms have TVs but DStv is only available in the communal area. There is a restaurant on-site, which serves an á la carte menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The town of Malelane is just a short drive away and it offers guests a place to stock up on groceries, draw money at the ATM or fill up on fuel before heading to the Kruger National Park. Nearby activities include, horse riding, quad biking, hiking, elephant back safaris and game drives. Paradise Creek is an ideal stopover for those en route to Mozambique or Swaziland.

A beautiful view of the mountains in the distance offers a good reason to have a sundowner whilst enjoying the sunset. We offer double and twin rooms with en-suite bathrooms and a television in each room. There is a family unit with an en-suite bathroom available.

The tea garden provides refreshments in the morning, noon and evening. For peace of mind, we have secure parking facilities on the premises. With the Kruger National Park almost on our doorstep, we can offer you game drives, night drives and bush walks. Apart from old fashioned hospitality we offer guests regular sightings of game from the viewing deck and swimming pool. Facilities include a chapel for intimate weddings, small conference room and self-catering unit.

We are ideally situated for excursions to the Kruger Park, Panorama route, Swaziland and Mozambique. There are year round game drives by arrangement. River House is also highly recommended by the AA Accommodation Awards from 2000 - 2010 in the category Small Country Retreats.

There are such activities as open vehicle safari drivers into Kruger National Park, either full day or morning only, Elephant rides, interaction or walk, visit a Swazi cultural village for tour, meal, traditional dancing and day excursions into both Mozambique and Swaziland.

Children Policy: No children under the age of thirteen.

The Big Tusker Bush Camp is located in Marloth Park and it shares the Crocodile River border with the Kruger National Park. There are many species of game and birds which can be found within the park. We are 25 km from Malelane and 20 km from Komatiepoort and the Crocodile Bridge gate. The property is not fenced which allows many animals to roam through the camp. Lions, buffalo and rhino are fenced in an enormous tract of bush called Lionspruit, which is within Marloth Park. During the day, you are allowed to walk or cycle through the park.

The Big Tuskers Bush Camp is designed for physically disabled guests to enjoy the bush. We can accommodate eight guests, two per chalet. Children under five years of age stay free if sharing the chalet with their parents. Each chalet has its own bathroom, fridge, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery. The kitchen is shared by all of the chalets and it is fully equipped. There is a braai area and the chalets are serviced on request. The cleaning lady charges R50 on weekdays and R75 on weekends. She will also cook for you should you desire, but an extra charge will be levied. You are requested to bring your own swimming towels and torches, should the electricity fail.

The Malelane Gate, the southern gateway into the Kruger National Park, is a mere five minutes away from Khandizwe. Guests may elect to self-drive into the Kruger via the Malelane Gate, or we can arrange specialised safari excursions in search of Africa’s Big 5. These open vehicle game excursions include either morning, afternoon or full day trips. We are also able to arrange bush walks and night drives inside the Kruger National Park.
