Free State Self-catering

Rushoek Lodge is just outside Bloemfontein in the peaceful and safe Bainsvlei area. Here you get the better of two worlds - you are close to the city, and yet you are staying in a country atmosphere. Although Rushoek is not in the suburbs it is close to the actual main business area, in most cases closer than many suburbs and with the minimum traffic on your way.

The River Village Inn is a spacious double-story house overlooking the surrounding river, cliffs and bushveld. The inn lies in a holiday area about 15 km from Parys with its many arts and antique shops to peruse. We are in the Vredefort Dome Heritage area with loads of activities of its own.

The Courtyard is situated at the entrance of the beautiful Free State town of Clarens. Four apartments are located on the first floor of the Barn Centre (located as you enter the town).

The White Giraffe is situated in the quaint town of Parys and offers self-catering accommodation for up to six people in two double and one twin room. The guest house is located an hour from Johannesburg and within the Dome World Heritage Site.

Rosewood Corner is situated in the centre of the village of Clarens, within walking distance of restaurants, galleries, shops etc. with mountain views. Sunny en-suite bedrooms with TV, heaters, tea trays. Set in a beautiful garden, all rooms have their own entrance. two barbeque facilities.

El Shaddai is a one hectare property with a swimming pool in the upmarket Rayton area, next to Heuwelsig. It is within walking distance from Mizpah Lodge which has various facilities for paintball and horse riding, and offers coffee shops and a conference venue. It is also near to Ilanga Estate. There are three self-catering chalets available.

Rusties Cottage is situated in Smithfield just off the N6. This two-bedroom cottage offers comfortable accommodation for six guests and forms part of Rusties Pub.

In Philippolis in the southern Free State you can switch off completely and forget about rush-hour traffic and deadlines. The tree-lined dirt roads, simple Karoo-style cottages and pomegranate and quince trees heavy with fruit.
