The Fever Tree Guest House is set on the edge of Hluhluwe in the heart of Zululand, in northern KwaZulu-Natal. This small town is situated between iSimangaliso Wetland Park and Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve. Our name was inspired by the beautiful fever trees that are so much part of this area.

On this property, where everything that grows is either indigenous or edible, we offer a service that combines comfort and style with an ecological consciousness.

At The Fever Tree, we offer four creatively decorated rooms with beautifully fitted en-suite bathrooms. This guest house with the customary coffee and tea making facilities and an earthy-African ambience that will make your stay here close to perfect.

All rooms have remote controlled televisions with six television channels, including M-Net and selected DStv channels, ceiling fans, air-conditioning and towels are provided. Three rooms have private entrances and a small kitchenette. Guests have free use of the splash pool.

Our dining and reception room rooms opens on to the beautiful garden and swimming pool, while the lounge and other rooms have a view of the front garden. Birdlife is abundant, so bring along your binoculars and you could well be rewarded with some wonderful sightings.

There is an abundance of birds and small animals and this garden will be sure to astound you. The Milky Way lights up the sky at night and there is a braai facility with tables and chairs under the trees.

Guests can enjoy hippo and crocodile trips on the estuary, whale watching in season, horse trails and a crocodile park; hiking trails, night drives in Cape Vidal, snorkelling, deep sea fishing and Zulu cultural tours. There are also Turtle Tours in season and off-road trips. Explore the wetlands with qualified guides or by yourself; the information you can get at the office is provided from experience. The Hluhluwe and Umfolozi Game Parks are approximately 60 km from St Lucia and Cape Vidal is only 32 km, making it an ideal stopover.

There are banks, grocery store, petrol station, post office, police station and doctors, as well as good quality restaurants. The weather is good most of the year and nature is always at its best. St Lucia is a small town that is big in adventure and will cater for any tourist.

We are a disabled friendly establishment with necessities such as handrails, wheelchair ramps and extra wide doors. We have two decks and one overlooks the swimming pool and the beautiful cycads planted towards the front of the guest house. Our other deck is private, although it is shared between three rooms and overlooks a section of bush adjoined to the St Lucia Wetland Area. Guests sitting on this deck have been lucky enough to see vervet monkeys, abundant bird life and even the occasional kudu or bushbuck.

Come and stay with us to have the chance of experiencing all of this yourself. As our slogan says, “Tame the African Wilds in Style”.

There are five bedrooms (north section has three bedrooms; the south section has two bedrooms); vast living areas (open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen) and an expansive patio with a plunge pool, and a braai area. The chalets are on a lower level, surrounded by indigenous bush. They comprise two one-roomed units. Semi-detached, each unit has its own shower/loo & hand-basin, one double or two single beds, kitchenette facilities (including 2-plate gas-cooker, microwave, ’fridge, sink, crockery and cutlery for two) and out front is a semi-enclosed braai area, for outdoor cooking. Tamboti Ridge Ranch is an established sugar and game farm situated in the peaceful beauty of the Northern Kwa-Zulu Natal bushveld. Our accommodation comprises of seven chalets with private bathrooms, seven chalets with shared ablutions, and 20 caravan and camping sites under the shade of indigenous trees on grass.

The campsites are equipped with electrical points and water, and the two clean ablution blocks offer showers and baths. There are two communal kitchens and a braai area for guests' use. The lodge also offers a lounge and bar area with DStv as well as a sparkling swimming pool.

We are only 20 minutes away from the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve and various exciting activities can be organized in the area.
