Motsamai Guest Lodge offers comfortable accommodation set in a quiet suburban neighbourhood of Bulawayo. It is the nearest large city to Hwange National Park, Matopo National Park and Victoria Falls. Our evergreen gardens create a peaceful atmosphere with a swimming pool and large trees. We take pride in providing high-quality service with friendly staff, offering room service and free Wi-Fi. Bulawayo is built on a vast, flat plateau on the central watershed between the Zambezi River in the north and the Limpopo River to the south. The city has a relaxed and more sedate lifestyle than the nation’s capital, Harare, and it is famous for its wide streets. The history of Bulawayo is evident in many old buildings lining the streets, dating back to the early days. There are also many Cape Dutch buildings with their curved, white gables dotted around the city and its suburbs.

Rhino Lodge is situated on the shores of Lake Kariba, a massive man-made lake formed by the damming of the mighty Zambezi River in the late 1950s. It is also situated within the Matusadona National Park, a remote wilderness area which has been designated as an Intensive Protection Zone for a small but successful population of the endangered black rhino. The remoteness of this protected area, together with the plentiful water supply provided by the lake, combine to make the Matusadona home to a wide variety of wild animals. The Big 5 are all found here as well as hippo and crocodile and a wide variety of water birds make use of the lake. Kudu, warthog, zebra, bush buck, impala, and numerous antelope species as well as over 350 documented bird species are also here. Rhino Safari Camp is small and highly personalized, staffed by people who are passionate about their land, their environment and the wild animals in it. We are here to offer you comfortable spacious accommodation with outstanding views, a superbly comfortable night’s sleep, loads of hot shower water, freshly prepared home-style meals, game-viewing activities that get you up close and personal, followed by a cool drink by the fire at the end of the day and an unforgettable meal beneath the canopy of the night sky. All in uncontrived natural surroundings in one of Africa’s few remaining wilderness areas. Rhino Safari Camp offers a balance between the mobile tented camp and the ultimately luxurious permanent camps. We do not have electricity and live with what nature provides, with a few added extras. We recharge batteries with solar panels, use petrol-driven pumps for water, refrigerate and cook with gas, heat water in wood-fired boilers, and light the camp at night with paraffin lamps, candles, and the flickering light of the camp fire. At the entrance to the camp is the main boma, the central area where we meet, eat and relax. This spacious platform is completely open at the sides allowing the breeze from the lake to cool the interior. We use both upstairs and downstairs sections for dining and relaxation. Downstairs is a discreet bar and buffet area with a dining area and camp seating area, while upstairs is a comfortable living area and alternative dining area with magnificent views of the lake and the animals as they wander along the shoreline. We also have a small but practical selection of reference books and reading material on offer, and a selection of traditional games to keep you occupied. Tea, coffee and other beverages are available to guests throughout the day in the boma, and all meals are freshly prepared at camp, with maximum nutritional benefit in mind. Everyone at Rhino Safari Camp is there to ensure that your stay is an enjoyable as possible. With the spirit of Africa, our staff are unobtrusive and friendly in their interest and concern for their guests.

Ivory Lodge is a small intimate lodge featuring nine luxurious suites set on elevated platforms among the indigenous flora of Hwange Game Park Deep, in the mystical teak forests of Hwange is this unobtrusive camp, bathed in the tales of pioneering hunters and explorers. Lumbering giants drift around your stilted platforms, their tusks glinting in salute to the sanctuary of shade offered up by these massive trees. This is Ivory Lodge, place of elephants. It is here that great herds of elephants are found, sometimes over 100 strong. It is also here that the famous presidential herd drinks. Hwange is famous for its huge tuskers, big old bulls with magnificent tusks. The elephants move in seasonal migration from Botswana's dense feeding areas, to Hwange Game Park where they find refuge from the scorching heat at Ivory's waterhole. Silently and elegantly, the lodge stands over the waterhole - watch by floodlight under a star-spangled African night sky - the elephants in their play-fighting with their display of instinctive rituals, their caressing and murmurings, all which speak of years gone by. “Driving you Wild”, our in-house safari connection, is our means of transport to and from Vistoria Falls and Bulawayo and Camp Amalinda. Quotations are available on request on our 14-seater Toyota Quantum fully air-conditioned bus. To view our other accommodation, Camp Amalinda, go to www.safarinow.com/go/campamalinda.
