    Self Drive to Pans
We took a self drive trip to the Ntwetwe pans, departing from Planet Baobab we turned towards Gweta where we navigated through the village and eventually found a jeep-track road heading South/South-East towards the pans. After about an hour and a half the vegetation cleared and we reached the pans within 2 hours from Gweta. What a view! We didn't enter the pans as we heard that the area had a lot of rain recently and didn't want to get stuck. We managed to do the self-drive trip with 2x4.

    Meerkats and Zebras
While we were in Gweta (Planet Bayobab), we took a safari out to the salt pans just south of the village. Our guide was excellent and explained about the animals and vegetation along the way. We were able to go out to where the meerkats live, and "hang out" with them. We were able to take pictures up close, and even pet some of them. We were also able to see hundreds of zebras that migrate down there for a few months of the year. The salt pans were also pretty amazing.
