Caprivi Houseboat Safaris Lodge is an exclusive lodge nestled amid a lush green garden on the banks of the Zambezi River. Situated a few kilometres east of Katima Mulilo in the Caprivi Region of Namibia, the lodge offers genuine hospitality in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. The lodge offers five rustic, en-suite chalets that open onto the riverbank, as well as three campsites with a power-point, light, running water and central ablutions, and a tented room that shares ablutions with the camping sites. The ablution block also has two kitchenettes, for those who do not wish to braai, equipped with a small gas cooker and dish-washing facilities. There are many exciting activities at the lodge, including overnight safaris on safari boats that will take you down the Zambezi and/or Chobe Rivers. There is also fishing, sunset cruises and birding.

Nestled among the Acacias and Jackleberry’s, along the lush banks of the mighty Zambezi, lies a small paradise, a home away from home, where you can truly return to nature and enjoy the opportunity to completely unwind whilst indulging in all the African bush has to offer. Kalizo Lodge, meaning place of safety, is indeed a tranquil safe haven. Conveniently situated 40 km from Katima Mullilo and a few hours from the famous Victoria Falls, Chobe Game Reserve and other National parks, it is undeniably the heart of any great adventure. Kalizo Lodge is a getaway for the whole family and offers much that can be enjoyed by all. Some of the activities that keep enticing visitors to return include, world-class river fishing, birding and photography as well as boating and game viewing. Accommodation at the lodge is either in Luxury Tents, Family Units and Campsites. Activities include guided birding and fishing trips, photographic safaris, day and overnight trips to Chobe National Park, Victoria Falls and various Caprivi Game Parks as well as boat hire from small speed boats to large pontoons for the whole family. Sir Oasis of the River, our largest pontoon boat (max 25 people) is also recommended, and these cruises are tailor-made to suit individual requirements. Bird watching and photography are all year round pursuits, and a large breeding colony of carmine bee-eaters can be viewed from the river, from mid-August to late November. Between April and December, the magnificent African skimmers are a familiar sight, and a leisurely boat cruise will reveal the ever-present fish eagle, herons, kingfishers and coppery tailed coucals. Kalizo has the best tiger and bream fishing on the river. The lodge's well-equipped boats, with rods and fishing tackle, not to mention their experienced guides, will accompany their guests to the best fishing locations on the river.

The area is the eastern most tip of the Caprivi Strip - from the air an amazing mosaic of waterways, floodplains and bushveld - on the ground exceptional bird life, game-viewing and assorted vegetation - and in the waters outstanding fishing opportunities. Eight private chalets, elevated within lush riverine forest, offering superb views over either the Mambova rapids or quiet backwaters of the Zambezi River. Each chalet is luxuriously appointed with en-suite bathrooms and a choice of either king-sized, double bed or twin beds, equipped with an overhead fan, hairdryer, mosquito nets and private deck. Island View Lodge is situated in a sheltered backwater overlooking Kalimbeza Island and is the perfect place to capture the spirit of the Caprivi, with it's natural unspoilt beauty, magnificent sunsets, and spectacular riverine scenery. Accommodation at the lodge is provided in comfortable, rustic thatched roofed bungalows, each with it's own self-catering kitchen and freezing facilities. All units are serviced daily and guests have a choice of bed and breakfast, full board, semi-full board or self-catering accommodation. The campsite overlooks a wide expanse of river and consists of 24 sites which can accommodate a minimum of two and a maximum of eight people per campsite. Trees offer campers a shady canopy under which to erect their tents and barbecue facilities are provided at each site, with electric plug points available at a nominal fee. Ladies and gents hot-water ablution facilities and a communal kitchen are also in close proximity. Visitors who do not wish to do their own cooking can enjoy a hearty home-cooked meal, served around the fire at our dining lapa. Relax with a refreshing drink at the Way-Inn Bar, where anglers meet to discuss the day's events. Darts and pool are popular activities enjoyed by guests, and the bar stocks a variety of wine, beers, spirits, and cool drinks. DStv is also available in the lounge. Nestled on the banks of the Kwando River in the Eastern Caprivi, Camp Kwando invites you to come and explore the beautiful treasures of an untamed land. We offer various accommodation types such as Island Tents, Camp Sites and Tree Houses. The island boasts 12 thatched tents, each one with two beds. All beds have mosquito nets. Built on poles with a deck overlooking the river, these bungalows will allow you to do some fishing from the deck. The thatched roofs guarantee good thermal regulation, not too hot in the summer and not too cold in the winter. Every tent has an outside shower with a canvas roof over, en-suite bathroom with shower to enjoy the surrounding nature. Electricity is provided at key times by a generator and the bathrooms are lit by way of paraffin lights. The campsites are situated between the main building and the island. The surface is covered by grass and beautiful trees provide shade during the hotter hours of the day. The facilities provide showers with hot and cold water, toilets and basins, as well as a place to do your laundry. Four larger chalets on stilts/tree houses are also available on higher ground; the poles are made of wood and canvas along with thatched roofs. Conveniently placed in the middle of the trees, they allow for a beautiful view of the Botswana plains. Each tree house has a large and stylish bedroom, en-suite bathroom, as well as an expanding deck. We do boat trips on the river to Popa Falls, you can see hippos, crocodiles and birds. Guided village walks to the local people. Bird watching, fishing, swimming in our pool or relaxing on our sun deck complete the menu. A restaurant and bar facilities available. One can expect quality service, accommodation and food at very reasonable prices. All our activities were rated at a high standard and are very popular. This is truly Africa.

Namwi Island is situated about 10 km from Katima Mulilo and lies on the banks of the Zambezi River. Namwi Island offers comfortable accommodation in chalets and various camping spots. All self-catering chalets are cooled with a fan or with air-conditioning and have private en-suite bathrooms, except the Budget Chalets that share ablution and scullery facilities with the campsites. The shady campsites are situated on a huge lawn and each site has an electricity point and a braai area. A modern ablution block, equipped with hot water, a scullery and a laundry room is shared. For your convenience, a kiosk is situated on the grounds; it sells ice, braai packs and wood. Please note that there are no credit card facilities, bar or restaurant on the grounds. Namwi Island is the perfect location for outdoor activities like fishing, canoeing and birdwatching. Guests can also make use of the inviting swimming pool or go on boat- and fishing trips on the mighty Zambezi River. The beautiful sunset cruises will take your breath away. The natural surroundings, luxury accommodation and many outdoor activities will definitely make your stay with Namwi Island relaxing and memorable.
