Nacht Wacht Self-catering Cottages is situated in the heart of the magical Overberg region, 8 km from Bredasdorp and a 20-minute drive from the beautiful and historic coastal town of Waenhuiskrans, at the southernmost tip of Africa. Nacht Wacht is a historical building on one of the oldest working farms in the region and has been lovingly restored by its owners. It has been turned into a beautiful, cosy, self-catering cottage with all amenities to make your stay an unforgettable, comfortable experience. Guests can enjoy the farm atmosphere in two cottages sleeping four people each. Both cottages have two bedrooms, one with a double and one with two single beds. The units also comprise fully-equipped kitchens with two-plate stoves and microwaves, quality towels and linen, and indoor braai facilities. At Nacht Wacht you can spend the day birdwatching, fishing, hiking, cycling and canoeing. Try a tasty home-made meal at our restaurant just around the corner from the guest house, but most of all, unwind and relax.

Whether you're on a business trip, on vacation or doing sport, De Volkshuijs is the place where memories are made; where dreams take flight. It is a place that comforts you and holds you tight. Here guests can experience humble living as provided over centuries by the cottages, Sakkie and Saartjie. Tastefully decorated and very well equipped for easy self-catering, each cottage has a bedroom with a double bed, bedside tables and a built-in cupboard. White bed linen and towels, double electric blankets and heaters are provided for the comfort of our guests. The bathrooms are fitted with a bath and/or a shower. Each living area is furnished with two single beds, a wooden dining table with seating for four plus a flat-screen TV with local channels. The kitchens are equipped with electric stoves and ovens, microwaves and refrigerators with freezers as well as ironing boards and irons. The wooden cupboards are built-in and very neat. Coffee, tea, milk, sugar and rusks welcome our guests. Each cottage has its own private courtyard with vine covered pergola and cobble paving. Traditional barbeque facilities are provided. The parking areas are secure to ensure your peace of mind. We offer families the unique chance of relaxing in a cosy, well equipped slave's cottage, close to town. It is ideal for those who want peace and relaxation while being surrounded by nature. There are two bedrooms; the main bedroom has a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower; and the second bedroom is located upstairs in the loft and has two single beds. Although the cottage does not have electricity, the kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and oven, a gas fridge and all the necessary utensils. There is a dining table and a cosy fireplace for those winter days. The spacious living room opens onto the patio, which has a built-in braai and seating. Cellphone reception is not available in the cottage, but one can find it a few metres from the cottage. A walk or cycle will get guests to the lookout point, which offers a 360-degree view over the entire Overberg. It is ideal for cyclists.

Guests have a choice between double and /or twin apartments, which are available on the first floor. Each two-sleeper apartment has a separate entrance from the open balcony. All the apartments are equipped with a TV and DStv and has a kitchen that is equipped with a fridge, a microwave as well as a coffee and tea tray. Please note that the kitchens do not have stoves. The bathrooms consists of showers only and quality linen/towels is provided. Hairdryers as well as a safes are also available. All the apartments are also connected to local security company. Parking is private and safe and access is gained with a remote control. Close by are many places of interest such as Arniston, De Hoop Nature Reserve, Elim, whale-watching spots, De Mond for the birders and Cape Agulhas, the tip of Africa, making Bredasdorp a very central place from which to explore the Overberg area. Annie's Cottages are two thatched self-catering units situated in a quiet area of Bredasdorp. The Cottage was built in 1856, with two double bedrooms and The Annex has one double bedroom with a further two beds in the loft. A pretty garden separates the two cottages, each with their own outdoor entertainment areas. Both cottages are tastefully decorated and well equipped with all the home comforts including compact satellite TV. Annie's Cottages is only five minutes away from a great 9-hole golf course and the Heuningberg Nature Reserve with its hiking trail, home to over 200 endemic plant species. The interesting shipwreck museum and some excellent restaurants are also close by. For birders, blue cranes are a feature of this area.

Potteberg Guest Farm offers visitors cottage-style accommodation on a working farm, which is situated on the boundary of the De Hoop Nature Reserve. The self-catering flat has a private entrance and a lovely en-suite double room. Linen and towels are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped but delicious farm-style meals can be served on request. There are braai facilities with wood provided for great South African cuisine. The farm house is surrounded by a beautiful garden for a relaxing time in the warm sun. A highlight for our guests is a tour of the farm in Niel's 'bakkie' with chance viewings of eland, as well as large flocks of blue crane or a Cape Griffon vulture soaring overhead. The farm is the ideal base from which to explore De Hoop Reserve and to participate in local activities such as whale watching, mountain biking, hiking, snorkeling, game viewing and birdwatching. We have recently added a bird hide, giving our guests a chance to enjoy the bird life up close. Look out for sightings of Cape Griffon vultures, blue crane and the Augulhas Clapper Lark, amongst others. The road south from Bredasdorp takes one to the historic village of Kassiesbaai at Arniston/Waenhuiskrans, and further to Cape Agulhas the southernmost tip of Africa where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. All guests are taken on a ride through the farm so they can see the various operations, including dairy, sheep, wheat and ostrich farming.

Bredasdorp is a town in the Southern Overberg region of the Western Cape, and lies on the northern edge of the Agulhas Plain, about 160 km south-east of Cape Town and 35 km north of Cape Agulhas. The unit features a private entrance and off-street parking, and the open-plan living room, twin bedroom, kitchenette and bathroom with shower are all situated on the ground level. In the loft area, under the thatch, are a double and a single bed and the kitchenette features a bar fridge, microwave, sink, crockery and cutlery. The Coach House also features a TV with local channels, as well as DStv.
