The place is nice relaxing and the hospitality also was good. A place to revisit again should the chance avail. Cheryl and her staff took care of us we enjoyed every moment spent there from the day of arrival till last day. The chalets are great comfortable peace of mind is enjoyed, away from everyday rush. Relaxing stay

Had an amazing stay, place of great peace and friendly staff. The access road though is not for the faint hearted and a vehicle with high ground clearance is preferable.
Wonderful

We had an amazing time staying at the Kulungi self catering cottage. It's very private and peaceful, with loads of time to enjoy the bush and river views.
Just magic!

A first-rate experience! A superb location, very comfortable chalets and exceptional staff. Sheryl very helpful, friendly and hospitable. Excellent game viewing. Activities provided by Neville from Phalaborwa Adventure Tours were exceptionally good and we would highly recommend him. The night in the bush with Neville and Johan was just magic!

Was fantastic; peaceful, just what we expected!!!!
Enjoyable
Pamela Naidoo, South Africa - Friday, 31 October 2008
Stay was pleasant and enjoyable. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Made the experience very enjoyable and comfortable. One of the downsides of this place, is that the road to the lodge itself, which is 8km, is a dirt road and is probably not suitable for cars. Quite convenient to the park main entrance. Food was also good.
Fantastic
Margie Walker, South Africa - Tuesday, 05 August 2008
From the moment of arrival, we were embraced with friendship, as if we were long lost friends. Alan and Sheree were superb hosts, and made sure we were comfortable. The food was of the highest standards!! Thank you Tomas the Chef. We definitely will be returning, and spreading the word of a small slice of paradise in this country.

Kulungi Riverside Lodge
Two luxury tents, five private, totally separate, spacious thatched chalets, two of which are equipped as self-catering units. All accommodation units have an en-suite bathroom, ceiling fan, mini bar and a private patio where guests can view the abundant species of game, including four of the BIG FIVE drinking at the waterhole or at the river. The fridges in the Self-Catering chalets are not stocked with Bar supplies. The chalets have air-conditioning, shower facility only, and can comfortably sleep a family of four. Each tent has a bath and shower and comfortably sleeps 3 persons. We regret that there is no air-conditioning in the tents. Unwind during the heat of the day around the sparkling pool and later enjoy a cold sundowner on the lodges’ patio, or at the cosy well stocked bar or better yet……… on your own private viewing verandah. There is DSTV available in the Bar area.

The restaurant has a lovely light wooden and bush appearance, where all meals including a Full Hot & Cold Breakfast and 3 Course Dinner are served each day/night. Outdoor dining under the stars can be enjoyed as well as a relaxing evening sitting around the large fire pit in the Boma.

Early morning and evening game drives with a ranger will reveal the wonders of the bush and enthusiastic ornithologists can view over 300 species of birds including the shy Purple Crested Lourie, the fierce and majestic Bateleur, to the rare Pels Fishing Owl. As we are a small intimate lodge we share the services of a qualified guide with other small lodges. These Game drives and Walks DO need to be booked in advance to avoid disappointment.

Golf enthusiasts can unwind on the very picturesque well renowned Hans Merensky Golf Course where it is common to see elephant, giraffe, warthogs, baboons and a variety of antelope crossing the rolling fairways. This course is only a 35 minute drive away. Other popular and highly recommended Self-Drive attractions in the area are the Amarula Lapa, Riverboat Safaris, Masorini Iron Works, Khamai Reptile Park, Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and the Cheetah Research Centre and Jessica the Tame Hippo. Elephant back rides can be arranged (80 minutes away).

We recommend that you do NOT visit Kulungi in a Low-rise vehicle as it will not be suitable for our roads.
