Conveniently situated in Centurion West between Johannesburg and Pretoria, SunnysideUp Backpackers offers affordable farm-style accommodation ranging from a dormitory, chalets, a family cottage, and the Main House. SunnysideUp Backpackers offers a convenient starting or ending point to your African adventure.

Many guests have told us spontaneously that the location was genuinely idyllic - a bucolic island in the thick of a huge conurbation. Indeed, about half of the 9000 square metre plot is largely left to itself and makes up, together with the built-up area and its fruit trees, a small but lively paradise for numerous wild birds, insects, and reptiles.

The feeling is pure country, even though shopping centres with banks, restaurants, and pubs are within walking distance. SunnysideUp Backpackers Centurion is ideal for people who do not like to be locked up in the midst of a metropolitan area, even for a few days.

Unfortunately we think that our bedding was not clean. It certainly was permeated with the smell of cigarette smoke. We had asked for 'non smoking'. Our credit card was not acceptable. Cash only. I do not think it was made clear enough on the website. We paid the deposit from our card account.

We had a great time in a great place with friendly owners. All good, clean rooms, strong showers, kitchen and lounge perfect. As backpackers go, this one is a truly good deal. Thanks to the owners and specifically Silke for opening their place for us. Regards Boland Underwater Hockey team
