Description
The Coach House is a newly renovated and refurbished cottage; a delightful conversion from a 19th century coach house and stable. The original grand Cape Dutch house, to which this out building belonged, was sadly demolished in the 1960s, leaving the building set in a beautiful private garden.
The small but private bedroom is under the thatch on a mezzanine level and features a double bed with white cotton percale linen. The bathroom is equipped with a walk-in shower and all the standard fixtures, with bathroom amenities and fluffy white towels provided.
The cottage features a large sunny living room with arm chairs and a comfortable sleeping sofa, while the open-plan kitchen and breakfast bar is fully equipped with everything from a gas hob and oven to a dishwasher and extractor fan - perfect for those who enjoy eating in. French doors open onto a sheltered private courtyard, ideal for eating and socializing on balmy evenings.
The garden is designed around an established oak tree with indigenous plantings, a small lawn, and a memorial to Danie Theron - the famous Boer Scout who so frustrated the British during the Anglo-Boer War. As this property is fully contained behind a low wall, it is also pet friendly. Breakfast is optional and can be served next door in the grand dining room of the Main House for an additional fee.
