Shawswood

This old timber farm has been converted to rustic accommodation that is ideal for large groups of people or couples.

The old stables have been converted into accommodation with seven bedrooms holding three sets of bunk beds and two bedrooms holding four sets of bunk beds. An additional wing has three bedrooms with double beds and another three with twin beds. All of the bedrooms make use of communal ablution facilities with showers and hot water. The farm workshop has been converted into a communal dining hall.

Communal cooking facilities are provided and catering can be arranged. There are braai facilities as well as firewood available for guests. Large groups are required to bring their own cutlery and bedding.

Shawswood is able to arrange team building exercises, indoor and outdoor group activities and guided walks. They offer a unique outdoor environmental education program aimed at school groups from grade three. The nearby 101 m waterfall, Grey Mare’s Tail, offers great hiking possibilities and a wonderful spot for a picnic.
