Facilities

De Oude Meul Country Lodge is one of the ultimate destinations in Oudtshoorn which lies at the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains. Experience the atmosphere of sleeping between the mountains, hearing the river and breathing the fresh air. We are well positioned in the scenic Schoemanshoek Valley, en route to the Cango Caves.

Local cuisine is the specialty for dinner and guests will enjoy true Klein Karoo hospitality. An á la carte restaurant offers the finest cuisine of the region and facilities include hiking trails, pre-booked 4x4 drives and guided succulent tours in the surrounding mountains. We offer a tranquil stopover in a beautiful country setting.

The latest edition to the lodge is a wedding an conference venue which can accommodate up to 250 guests with a recreation lounge and bar facilities, under-cover barbecue area and swimming pool. Enjoy barbecues on the mountain along with the 4x4 trip.

It is a real little paradise in the Klein Karoo with game such as eland, kudu, springbuck, zebra and blesbuck on the fields in front of the lodge. They are free to roam up to the mountains and are not always visible.

Everyone was really friendly and professional, they went out of their way to accommodate us. The rooms were great, we were quite sad that we were only staying for one night! Breakfast was AMAZING, there was even apple pie! Great experience.
