Artist Retreat Philippolis offers you a pleasant stay in Philippolis. Enjoy the atmosphere of the memorial garden of Laurens van der Post, the labyrinth, as well as just the quietness and the history that our unique town offers. Artist Retreat is positioned on the premise of Laurens van der Post Memorial Garden and is an ideal stopover on the way from Johannesburg or Bloemfontein to Cape Town. We offer guests a pleasant stay in a welcoming and homely setup.

Artist Retreat contains two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with twin single beds, a living room area, a kitchen with a microwave, kettle and bar fridge, and a bathroom with a shower, toilet and washbasin. Artist Retreat is an establishment that is also known for delicious meals and warm-hearted hospitality.

We offer a total getaway from the pressures of city life, a relaxing country retreat, and we pride ourselves in the quality of our product, service and attention to detail. Our scenery, friendly staff and delicious meals are sure to turn your stay into a tantalizing experience, to return once again year after year.

The Lourens van der Post memorial is extremely interesting and well worth the visit. Great food, next time I will stay a bit longer.
