Kulalu Camp is one of Kenya’s best kept secrets; just 110 km west of the coastal towns of Malindi and Watamu, and only two hours’ drive away from Galana and Kulalu Ranches, deep in the heart of Kenya’s bush land on 1.4 million acres of pristine Africa.

The camp consists of five spacious tents, two doubles, one which can also be used as a family tent with a bunk bed, and three twins each with en-suite, flushing toilet and a safari shower. Each tent is thoughtfully positioned to ensure a breathtaking view of the Galana River.

Kulalu Camp is environmentally friendly, being powered by solar panels. The dining and lounge area is a semi-permanent makuti palm-thatch building. This provides a safe and comfortable place to quietly watch the game and bird activity along the river bank or to spend the hot afternoons with a cool drink and a book. The river location provides brilliant opportunities to be sitting relaxing on your veranda while watching the wildlife come and drink from the river in the morning and late afternoon.

Food at Kulalu is absolutely delicious and Justus will be your chef while you stay with us, transforming the mess into a haven of culinary delight. Justus is an experienced bush chef who provides country house cooking using fresh produce that is bought in from Malindi. All the more incredible considering it is prepared in a traditionally styled mobile camp kitchen and food is prepared using a safari oven, a large metal box covered in a large pile of glowing embers. Feast on full English breakfast’s, light lunches and three course dinners as you look out over the Galana River.

Safaris are a great way to see and learn about Africa’s fabulous wildlife. Game viewing on Galana Ranch can deliver an unforgettable safari experience providing an undeveloped wilderness that is home to some of Kenya’s most spectacular animal species.

Loyk Tsavo Safari Camp is a comfortable tented camp located in Tsavo East National Park in Kenya on the banks of the Athi River. History was made in this area during the building of Railway Bridge. Two man-eating lions hindered the work on the bridge. History records that Colonel Patterson shot both lions in 1898. Many of the workmen died as a result of the attacks. Loyk Tsavo Safari Camp will allow you to experience the atmosphere of African adventure and a unique experience of staying in the lap of Nature Kenya.

Tucked away on the banks of Athi River in Tsavo East National Park, Loyk Tsavo Safari Camp is the perfect escape for an extended bush stay, a stop en-route in your safari or an overnight bush break from the beaches of the Kenya coast.

The camp features 20 en-suite tents, all with spacious verandahs offering views of the river. Each tent is fully furnished with one king-size bed or two single beds. On advanced request, an additional bed can be added to make a triple accommodating a child sharing or third adult. Tents have solar generated electricity for lighting and a covered verandah with chairs and tables. The tents are permanently built on raised cement foundations and a thatched roof provides additional protection as well as natural cooling. Our eco-friendly design provides a low impact, truly natural experience without the need to sacrifice comfort.

All tents face the Arthi River with the backdrop of the Yatta Plateau, the world’s longest lava flow formed from the Ol Doinyo Sabuk Mountain which runs 290 km along the western boundary of the National Park above the Arthi River. All tents are surrounded by riverine vegetation, which is maintained in its natural state and is where animals come to feed. Hippo and elephant dung are often seen together with footprints near the tents.

Meals can be served on the banks of the river, al fresco with the shade of trees or in the comfort of our restaurant. There is also a shaded seating area near the reception as well as a fully licensed bar serving a variety of popular beverages and a restaurant serving three daily meals featuring international cuisine prepared from fresh local Kenya meat and produce.

Loyk Tsavo Safari Camp has a number of activities available to our guests. These include nature walks with a Maasai guide within the camps grounds, sundowners, bush breakfasts and dinners, and a movie after dinner.

Voyager Ziwani offers a tranquil retreat in one of the wildest places left on earth, with spectacular views of mystical Mount Kilimanjaro and easy access to the wild attractions of Tsavo West National Park. Located on a private sanctuary on the western edge of Tsavo, the campsite is on a secluded dam on the Sante River which is home to turtles, crocodiles and hundreds of basking hippos.

Once the site for the German Schutztruppe garrison in the First World War, Voyager Ziwani is today famous for being in ‘big game country’ that is one of the biggest National Parks in the world, Tsavo West. Filled with a rich tapestry of volcanic upheavals like the Roaring Rocks and the volcanic rubble heap that is Chaimu, the land is as diverse as its wildlife; the red elephants of Tsavo and descendants of the infamous man-eating lions share the savannah grasslands with the fringe-eared oryx of the thorn-filled scrub, while the crocodiles and hippos while away time in the cool waters of the crystal clear Mzima springs and the rivers that course through.

Voyager Ziwani offers 25 beautiful earth-coloured designer safari tents that have been furnished to provide the classic ambiance of a traditional African camping safari. Fitted with large windows and shade netting to keep the interiors cool and filled with natural light, each tent has a veranda for guests to relax and watch the wildlife against the backdrop of Africa’s tallest mountain, Kilimanjaro, and early morning tea is delivered to your tent.

The restaurant serves home-made table d’hote cuisine and we have a special vegetarian kitchen and dedicated chef. There is also an intimate lounge bar that overlooks the dam, and a small boutique offers souvenirs and safari essentials. Voyager Ziwani has reliable telephone, fax and email connections and full laundry and valet services can be provided. A safety deposit box is available for guests' valuables and we can also offer limited foreign exchange facilities.

Activities at Voyager Ziwani include escorted game walks, star-gazing, night game drives, ranch tours of Gicheha farm, visits to the historical tower and tombs of Grogan’s Castle, tours of the World War II battlefields, bush breakfasts and barbeque dinners, and nightly entertainment by Maasai dancers.
