Chamilandu Bushcamp is a beautiful camp on one of the South Luangwa’s prime river locations. It is perfect for a bird's-eye view of the wildlife that the river and its lagoons attract. You don’t need to leave your bed to see the wildlife, as from your unique vantage point you can watch as animals roam across the landscape, or swing through the trees above your head.

There are three Stilted Chalets at this exclusive camp which is set on the riverbank beneath a soaring ebony grove. Each has its own raised verandah to loll on during the heat of the day, and an open-fronted en-suite bathroom with the same views over the tranquil waters. Two of the chalets have queen-size beds and one has a king-size bed. With capacity for just six guests, this is the ideal camp for small groups.

Enjoy a sundowner from the comfort of the thatched bar and dining area as you watch the wildlife do the same at the river. Exceptional game viewing and understated elegance make Chamilandu Bushcamp a place to remember.

There are walking safaris and game drives to explore the impressive range of habitats in the area. With no fewer than seven oxbow lagoons behind the camp, there are always thirsty animals around seeking refreshment. Our hide looks out over one of these lagoons and is the perfect place to take lunch, tea or to while away an afternoon in a hammock to the soundtrack of bathing elephant.

Zungulila Bushcamp is ideal for small, private groups and it delivers an authentic walking safari experience. It is a charming camp that embodies the essence of old Africa and a bygone era, with beautiful views onto the Kapamba River and an expansive plain where natural springs attract huge herds of game. Zungulila Bushcamp is eminently peaceful and available for private parties of four guests or more.

Up to eight guests can enjoy the serenity of Zungulila in four spacious tents. Built under thatch roofs, each shaded tent has its own private bamboo verandah with views over an impressive variety of wildlife. With stylish interiors, en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, outdoor showers and sunken plunge pools, you can enjoy the luxury. Two of the tents have queen-size beds while the other two have king-size beds.

Our expert guides will lead you on foot through some of the park’s most untouched wilderness, where large herds of buffalo roam the grassy plains and thirsty elephants come to drink at the springs and along the river. With limited roads in the area, activities are focused around walking, but to get even further afield, day and night game drives are also on offer. In the evening after wading through the river, we invite you to join your hosts for sundowners or sit around the campfire for a drink before recounting the day’s adventures over a starlit dinner.

Mfuwe Lodge is a safari lodge set in the most prolific game area of the South Luangwa. The perfect place to enjoy excellent game viewing and recharge your batteries. Set inside the park, just five minutes’ drive from the main gate, the lodge’s allure is instantly obvious. Beneath a canopy of ebony and mahogany, its thatched buildings are arranged around the banks of two lagoons where an endless stream of wildlife will keep you enthralled as you lounge on the open deck or take a dip in the swimming pool.

This region of the park is renowned for its prolific game such as giraffe, buffalo, antelope and crocodile which are constant visitors to Mfuwe Lodge’s lagoon, whilst in November the local elephants regularly wander right through the lobby. Whether you stay overnight, or just have lunch en route to a bush camp, Mfuwe Lodge’s relaxed charm and enviable surroundings make it the perfect stopover. Mfuwe Lodge also offers you the chance to relax at its Bush Spa or buy a few mementos of your time in Zambia at our curio shop.

We offer 18 thatched chalets from where you can enjoy your own private piece of Africa. Secluded covered verandahs look out over wallowing hippo’s and thirsty game in the lagoons, while the newly refurbished African interiors are the perfect place to wind down with their comfortable sitting rooms and en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers.

Walking safaris can be arranged on request, but the majority of outings are game drives, allowing guests to explore as much of this prolific region of the Luangwa Valley as possible. Drives are led by our experienced team of guides, setting out at first light, and then again in the late afternoon when the wildlife is at its most active. After sundowners, spotlights are used to pick out a new cast of nocturnal creatures.

Bilimungwe Bushcamp is a beautiful camp that blends seamlessly with its surroundings and offers unrivalled wildlife viewings. Here the traditions of the African bush camp meet elegance and style to create a stunning camp that feels like it was grown organically out of the surrounding landscape.

Set beneath a large Mahogany tree is the heart of Bilimungwe with its shady lounge area that looks out over one of the camp’s three waterholes. With the open waters of the Luangwa river on your doorstep, and a nearby plain where leopard prowl, it’s clear that this is a nature lover’s paradise.

Bilimungwe’s offers four raised, thatched rooms that have been carefully designed to ensure comfort whilst still retaining that authentic bush camp feel. The tangle of mature Mahogany trees that surrounds the camp are echoed in the rich wood interiors and the beautiful wooden furniture, handmade by local artisans. After an early morning game drive, head back to your room for a refreshing, open-air waterfall shower, or continue the wildlife spectacle from your private deck. Two of the chalets have queen-size beds and two have king-size beds.

Take advantage of the exceptional knowledge and charm of our resident guide and head out with him on a combination of walking safaris, day and night game drives, and sundowners on the river’s edge.

Kapamba Bushcamp is a remote and romantic camp situated in a prime location on the Kapamba River. It is the only bush camp to be open from April to January. Situated in a remote corner of the South Luangwa National Park, the camp combines isolation and superb game viewing opportunities of a true bush camp with a touch of luxury.

The charm and romance of Kapamba is most obvious in its four spacious en-suite Chalets. Cool, simple and utterly original, these entirely open-fronted rooms boast wide verandahs with river views, twin showers and sunken stone plunge pools. Clever wrought-iron shutters are drawn each evening so that you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the African night without worrying about unwanted visitors wandering into your room whilst you sleep. Two of the Chalets have queen-size beds, while the other two have king-size beds.

Set on the banks of the shallow and spring-fed river, Kapamba is surrounded by some of the park’s richest wildlife. Watching an elephant take a dip in the river can be quite an experience when you’re lounging in your own private plunge pool. The central bar and dining room is positioned under a huddle of matumi and sausage trees, with a wide deck that stretches out with views of the Kapamba River. Enjoy your sundowner from the middle of the river itself, with your feet dipped in the cool and crystal clear shallows.

Kuyenda Bushcamp is a charming and rustic camp that offers a true taste of the African bush with one of Luangwa’s premier guides at its helm. There’s something special about Kuyenda, set beneath shady trees, right by the Manzi River.

Kuyenda embodies the authentic charm of old Africa with its cluster of traditional thatched grass huts and back-to-nature feel. As for the wildlife, you hardly need look for it as it will come to you. Settle down in the lounge and look out over the rippling grasses of the neighbouring plain where the drama of the African wilderness is played out each day.

Forget infinity pools and Wi-Fi, Kuyenda is the quintessential classic African bushcamp, lovingly rebuilt each season. Your room is a simple but cosy grass rondavel complete with paraffin lanterns, swathes of mosquito netting and an open-air en-suite bathroom with a large safari drum shower. Three rondavels has queen-size beds and one has a king-size bed.

Whether you are looking at a leopard or a termite, our tour guide’s enthusiasm and seemingly limitless knowledge of all things wild will keep you hanging onto his every word. With some of South Luangwa’s most diverse and beautiful landscapes situated around Kuyenda, you can be guaranteed that no two outings will ever be the same. To get even further afield, day and night game drives are also on offer.
