Natalia Lodge is a Kokstad bed and breakfast situated within walking distance of a variety of restaurants, take-aways, and the well-known Rolyats Shopping Centre, a favourite with locals. Although centrally located, Natalia Lodge offers peace and tranquillity, far enough away from the main streets so guests can stay and relax in the peaceful surroundings.

Each of our units features its own private entrance, DStv, electric blankets and additional blankets for the cold Kokstad nights, tea and coffee-making facilities, and complimentary soap and shampoo. Towels are provided and the rooms are fully serviced. A fully breakfast is offered, which can either be served in your room or eat-out and secure parking is also provided.

Kokstad is a gateway to the Eastern Cape, Lesotho, Matatiele and Underburg from Southern KwaZulu-Natal, and is nestled in the mountains of East Griqualand. The town is named after the Griqua chief, Adam Kok III, who settled here in the 1860s.

The nearby Mount Currie Nature Reserve offers scenic walks as well as bird-watching and there is also excellent trout and fresh-water fishing in the area. Alternatively, the nearby Ingeli Forest Lodge offers superb walks, eating and family fun.

We boast seventeen large rooms, with a total of 34 double beds and en-suite bathrooms. Each room consists of two double beds, a fan, a heater, tea and coffee facilities, DStv, and for the ‘workaholic’, a desk with a study lamp and chair. All basic necessities, such as linen, towels and soaps, are supplied. Our rooms are also serviced on a daily basis. Parking is never an inconvenience, as you have your own undercover parking bay right next to your room and our lodge has electronic access.

We specialise in Business Functions, Conferences and Weddings. We have two wonderful conference centres, one of which caters for 16 persons around a boardroom table, while the other seats 120 – 150 persons comfortably.

We have an immaculate barbeque facility on our deck, for those who wish to have a traditional South African meal.

Relax and unwind in our cosy, casual bar, or sit down to a delicious home-cooked breakfast or dinner in our buffet-style dinging room.

Farm walks, as well as fishing and hunting weekends can be arranged on request. For the more daring soul, air flips over East Griqualand are also easily arranged as the local airstrip is only two kilometres from the Lodge and is owned by the proprietors of Rocky Ridge Lodge.

The Kokstad area is popular for its many rivers and dams that provide opportunity for trout fishing. There three reserves in the area are Mount Currie, Wilfred Bauer with its lovely picnic spots, and the Mountain Lake Nature Reserve. The Mountain Lake Nature Reserve is a small reserve with over 220 species of birds for bird lovers, as well as tracks and paths that provide wonderful walks.
