Kaokoland Accommodation

This lodge is set on a hill overlooking the Epupa Falls and the Kunene river as well as. The lodge is build very close to a Himba settlement. We are a stones throw away from the falls and a majestic view of the river and the mountains in Angola.

Opuwo is the gateway to the Kaokoveld region in the northwestern part of Namibia. The remote area south of the Kunene river is the home of the Himba people, who have kept their ethnic individuality and culture in the seclusion of Kaokoland.

Mopane Camp is situated approximately 5 km from Opuwo, to the east of the C41 - the road which leads to Kamanjab. The camp is built on the high, steep banks of a dry river and built in the shade of large mopane trees.

Kunene River Lodge began life as an impromptu rest camp on the long, arduous 4x4 trail from Epupa to Ruacana. White-water rafting activities contribute significantly to the success it now enjoys as one of the most desirable tourist destinations in this remote corner of Namibia.

Epupa Camp consists of nine luxury Safari-style Tents erected on stone platforms, each with two single beds and an en-suite bathroom. All of the tents have electricity and mosquito netting and an outside, shaded balcony overlooking the tranquil Kunene River.

Okahirongo River Camp is an eco-friendly tented camp built on a sweeping ridge, with breathtaking views of the Kunene River. The central area, constructed above the rapids, comprises two lounges, a library and dining room decked out in African elegance.

Palmwag Lodge is situated in a remote area in Damaraland, Namibia, and is extremely convenient as a stopover between Swakopmund and Etosha. The lodge consists of luxury tented accommodation, standard rooms, as well as a campsite.

Gelbingen Lodge is situated in a mountainous valley in the middle of a mopani tree savannah. While enjoying our hospitality, guests can easily explore the Etosha National Park, Damaraland and Kaokoland, or enjoy one of our own tours.
