Darling Lodge Guest House offers a harmonious blend of old and new reflecting the romantic name of the little town. The main house, the Victorian charm of which has remained intact, offers three individually decorated country style rooms.

The more modern garden annex consists of three further generously appointed rooms with a grape-vine covered patio which overlooks the sparkling swimming pool. Two rooms are ideal for families as they are linked with a connecting door. Generous breakfasts are served in the breakfast room, out on the terrace or on the patio. The lush garden with its ancient pepper an palm trees, fountain spraying water over blossoming roses, aloes, bougainvillea and mass of lavender with its heady fragrance invites guests to relax and unwind.

The town is 75 km from Cape Town along the West Coast Road and 25 km from the beach at Yzerfontein.

This Victorian house is situated in the heart of the old village and was one of the first to be built in Darling.

We offer three double bedrooms with en-suite showers. Two rooms each have a private entrance to a veranda. The house has a shared TV lounge and a large stoep with a built-in braai, which is a great place to eat breakfast.

The cottage is self catering with a luxury bedroom with an en-suite shower and a view from the garden. The lounge is equipped with a TV and DVD player as well as a sleeper couch and a fireplace which leads to a stoep with a built-in braai. Wood is provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas/electric stove and tea and coffee facilities. All rooms have either single or double beds with percale bedding and electric blankets for the cold winter nights and fans for summer nights as well as a view from the garden.

Secure off-street parking is available and the garden has pool to cool off in on those hot summer days. Walk to the famous Evita se Peron or to the village restaurants. Enjoy the wild flower show in spring time or tastings of top quality wines at one the five wineries nearby.

The estate has a Manor House, four self-catering cottages and a Farm Stall. It is the ideal wedding venue as there is enough room for guests and it is a short drive from the city.

The Manor House has seven bedrooms and each of them leads to the veranda. The house includes a fully equipped kitchen, a lounge area, a dining area, and a bar. This is a spacious unit and is also ideal for conferences or team-building activities

The self-catering cottages can accommodate up to six guests and all the rooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers. The fully equipped kitchens include microwaves, two-plate stoves, and bar fridges.

Situated in the heart of old Darling, one will find Maison Amnesia, a charming self-catering cottage in a lovely water-wise garden setting within easy walking distance to the shops, various restaurants, and theatres. Maison Amnesia is ideal for breakaways, and can be used as a base from which to explore the many attractions of the West Coast area.

The cottage can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests and comprises four bedrooms, an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area, and a large outdoor patio area. The first bedroom contains a quality double bed with an en suite. The second bedroom contains a double bed, and the third bedroom contains twin single beds and a sturdy double bunk bed. Bedding and bath towels are supplied.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and includes all necessary appliances, cutlery and crockery. There is a large outdoor braai on the patio. Secure under-cover parking for two vehicles is provided.

One will enjoy the peaceful village atmosphere whilst sipping a glass of local wine from our award winning Wine Estates. Darling is renowned for its floral beauty during the wild flower season and should not be missed.

Trinity Lodge is a beautifully renovated Victorian home in the peaceful country town of Darling, only 45 minutes from Cape Town. The Lodge offers seven double en-suite bedrooms, each tastefully furnished with hand embroidered linen and goose-down duvets.

We have a restaurant on the historic Grootepost Wine Farm open for lunch from Wednesday to Sunday.

Darling itself is a jewel. World famous for its spring flowers, it hosts an annual flower show and houses the largest orchid nursery in the Southern Hemisphere. It is surrounded by magnificent vineyards in and around the Darling Hills producing some of the finest wines in South Africa and there are a number of cellars to visit for tastings. Darling is also a mecca for local artists including Pieter Dirk Uys' famous 'Evita se Perron'.

There is a magnificent beach at Yserfontein nearby with stunning sunsets, birding at the nearby West Coast National Park including sightings of the rare Hudsonian and Black-tailed Godwits, Broad-billed Sandpiper and Dunlin. There is also a Fossil Park about 30 km from the Lodge for those interested in ancient environments.

The setting of Maison de L’amour is decorated in a French Provence country style and it overlooks a garden which is picturesque and tranquil. The Old Pastorie is situated in the charming village of Darling, in the heart of the wild flower area, and offers beautiful accommodation in a manor house built in 1865.

The historic house is set on 100 acres of a nature reserve with a lake and a variety of wildlife. The four double rooms all have en-suite bathrooms and linen is provided. All rooms are furnished with comfortable queen-size beds and one room has a full en-suite bathroom while the others have showers only. For an extra person, another bed can be added at an additional cost. Each room has a CD player and tea and coffee facilities. All the rooms have lovely garden or lake views.

With the lake nearby, The Old Pastorie is great for birdwatching and guests will see herons, spoonbills, Egyptian geese and many other species that make this their home at different times of the year. Animals are allowed, but with restrictions due to the wildlife. Unfortunately no children under 12 are allowed and the establishment is no smoking. Guests can also cool down in the plunge pool.

For breakfast, 'The Marmalade Cat' in the village is highly recommended. Guests can also visit Evita se Perron and enjoy a show or spend a day at the beach in nearby Yzerfontein and explore the sights and sounds of this delightful town. For those who love history, the Darling Museum is worth a visit. The Old Pastorie is a great location for guests looking for peace and tranquility.

The holiday home has been beautifully decorated with top quality linen, furniture and artwork and enjoys possibly the best views in Darling - over rolling hills and farmlands to the distant mountains.

Aloe Cottage is the perfect romantic getaway for couples as well as for weekends away with friends or family holidays.

Three en-suite bedrooms provide luxurious accommodation for up to 6 guests.

Downstairs comprises two bedrooms (one with a queen-sized bed, one with twin beds) both luxuriously en-suite, with an open plan kitchen, dining and living area with fireplace, leading via French doors to a large, sheltered verandah with built-in braai. Stairs from the dining area lead to the spacious loft with another sitting area. The loft has a queen-sized bed and free-standing Victorian bath, with separate loo and basin. The loft has a small balcony with panoramic views and guests can even star-gaze from bed!

The cottage is located in an indigenous renosterveld estate with only 9 other houses in the whole estate. The house has been designed for privacy and relaxation. Restaurants, shops and galleries are a mere 3 minutes' drive away, but you will probably prefer to unwind by absorbing the peaceful country atmosphere and wonderful views over the neighbouring farmlands. There are beautiful walks and trails nearby. Two mountain bikes are included for your pleasure to explore the quaint village of Darling.

Aloe Cottage is fully equipped with a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, gas stove, electric oven, microwave and a chef's array of pots, pans and appliances. The cottage includes a fireplace, heater, fans, books, games, a small fenced indigenous garden, and lots more for your relaxation. It also includes 2 televisions, DVD players, selection of DVD discs, and a CD player, just in case... Either bring your own DStv satellite smartcard or use ours for a nominal fee.

Enjoy your days unwinding on the sheltered verandah to the soundtrack of the local birds, have a braai (wood is provided), watch a show with Tannie Evita Bezuidenhout, see the weaver birds build their nests right outside the window, curl up with a book in the hammock, or just relax on the deep, comfy couches in front of the fireplace with some fine Darling wine.

The adjacent fields of the Oude Post farm occasionally offer a glimpse of the beautiful long horns and speckled hides of the Nguni cattle.

Kalimera is a beautifully appointed self-catering holiday home in Darling, about 45 minutes from Cape Town and 15 minutes from the Atlantic beach. Kalimera offers stunning views and is the ideal place for a relaxed holiday in a tastefully decorated atmosphere.

The house has three bedrooms. Downstairs are two bedrooms with queen-size beds and en-suite bathrooms; one has French doors opening onto the pool. Upstairs is a third bedroom with a king-size bed and a en-suite bathroom with both a bath and a shower.

There is a spacious living area with a well-equipped kitchen with a gas cooker and a breakfast bar. The dining room is next to the kitchen. There is a charming sunken lounge with a fireplace and French doors onto the patio and the swimming pool.

There are several patios around the house and near the swimming pool is a large covered patio with a built-in braai and beautiful views. The large swimming pool is the centre focus and can be covered should there be little children.

Darling is a small town with many things to do and see. It has its own 9-hole golf course and four beautifully situated wine farms. The abundance of flora and fauna is a delight for visitors and the Darling Wildflower show takes place in September.
