Acorn House is an elegant guest house located in Oranjezicht, a prime residential suburb of Cape Town set on the foot of Table Mountain. Exceptionally convenient, the city centre is a three-minute drive away, with the harbour's V&A Waterfront and the golden beaches of the Atlantic seaboard not much further. Acorn House is also within walking distance to many restaurants, with a trendy deli restaurant located just opposite.

Start your day in Cape Town with an al fresco breakfast served at the pool in summer or in the homely dining room on a cooler day. Acorn House's breakfasts are often praised as "the second best in the city" and served until noon.

At Acorn House, the passion of the team is always in the air. The service is attentive and personal, but not obtrusive. We know what's up in and around our stunning Mother City; we know the best places to eat and to taste wines and will gladly assist in arranging transport and guided tours either on your own or in a group.

Whether it's lounging with your feet up in the classic lounge, sipping on a glass of wine from our selection in the well-maintained garden or by the pool, or taking in the breathtaking views of Table Bay, the city and majestic Table Mountain from the veranda and sun deck, the experience and atmosphere is laid-back. Well-chosen music adds to the mood, from South African jazz or chill-out tunes to classical music in the evening.

Acorn House is a National Monument, over 100 years old and still fresh, with the lounge, dining room and bedrooms all lovingly preserved. Few, carefully chosen modern details add to its charm. The en-suite bedrooms are light-filled and offer selected, traditional furnishings combined with elegant and timeless fabrics. Old in years but by no means in time, Acorn House also offers free Wi-Fi.

Rose Lodge and 22 on Rose are located in Rose Street, and Wale Lodge is five minutes away in Wale Street. They are three small, cosy guest houses located close to one another in the colorful and historic Malay Quarter known as the Bo-Kaap in Cape Town.

It is only a five-minute walk to the downtown area and the fashionable and trendy De Waterkant Village. The popular Victoria and Alfred Waterfront and Cape Town International Convention Centre are also within a short walking distance.

The rooms in these old Malay houses are not big, but they are all en-suite, with TVs, safes, air-conditioning, and heating. Coffee and tea facilities are available in the kitchens as well as free WiFi in the communal areas. We provide a laundry service if required and can arrange your transfers or tours. We are a non-smoking, dog friendly guest house. A substantial continental breakfast is provided. English, German, and French are spoken on the premises.

Rose Lodge has been mentioned in the Lonely Planet, Cape Town 2009 edition:
"Inside a grey-painted corner house in the Bo-Kaap is this cute B&B. The Canadian owner likes to play the piano and has two adorable dogs. There are just three cosy rooms (with private bathrooms) all decorated in contemporary style."

It has also been mentioned in Le Guide Du Routard 2012 edition:
"Seulement trois chambres doubles dans une maison tenue par un accueillant Canadien. L'endroit idéal pour rester dans un quartier calme et coloré, à un jet de pierre de centre-ville. Sure, confortable, et en plus votre hote cause plutôt bien le francais. La déco est résolument contemporaine, dans les tons gris et blanc. On peut prendre son petit déj sur la mini-terrasse qui sur-plombe la rue. Parking."

Welcome to Parker Cottage. We’re a little different to the usual hotel or guest house experience; rather than being just a conventional place to sleep, we offer a very much unplugged, urban retreat right in the creative heart of Cape Town. So although we offer free and fast Internet, we don`t do minibars, piped music or even reception desks.

We’re the kind of place where you can rediscover the art of conversation, endless breakfasts and total serenity. Parker Cottage is a social place too - our legendary wine evenings occur at least twice a week and there’s no cut-off time for our gourmet breakfasts either.
