Life in the bush is rather different from city life!
As with any home in the wild, there are some important do’s and don’ts, which I want to make sure you are aware of to keep you and your family safe:

Do not leave the doors open at any time. Many creatures great and small, like snakes, scorpions and spiders will come in and hide behind furniture etc - some can be dangerous.
Also it’s important for security - so remember to keep the back door locked if you are sitting out on the patio or in the boma.

Please don’t ever leave any windows open if you are going out, even for a short period. Baboons will gatecrash and cause major destruction.

Great care should be taken when braaiing on the boma be sure that the wind is not strong or sparks can land on the thatch.

• When you experience any problems regarding the house please contact
our caretaker Debbie Venter, she will gladly assist you!
• Respect the Rules of Marloth Park which I enclose in your info mail.
• When you feel threathened in any way do press the red button, this is silent alarm
Securicon officers will come to the house within minutes to assist you
•Treetops is a NO SMOKING area, smoking is allowed on the patio though
BUT please DO NOT throw the butts in the bush!!!!
• Do close the curtains when you leave the house even for a short while, it will keep the
monkeys and baboons outside and no one can look into the house for valuables.
• Always activate the alarm when you leave the house by pressing the white button.
You hear a single tone signal, when you deactivate the alarm you will hear a two
toned signal
• Lock the back door when you are on the patio or boma
• Africa is experiencing a very dry period, keep this in mind while braaiing or having
a campfire and make sure the fire is completely extinguished afterwards.
• Do not leave food etc behind on the patio or in the boma, Baboons will smell it
and come for it.... leaving you an awfull mess.
Mongooses and Vervet monkeys will do the same.
Do not under estimate their sense of smell!!!!
• Do not ever feed the monkeys or baboons, they will come after you.
In Monkey community is the one who feeds subordinate to the one who receives the food!!!
• Please collect your waste and bring it to the collection points at one of the gates at your
departure.
Never leave the trash outside the house during your stay!!!!

Treetops is truly a hidden gem. Tucked away between the trees and bushes, it is perfectly private and lets you experience a legitimate African experience right outside your doorstep. We had daily visitors of mongoose, warthogs, rooibokke, kudus and even wildebeests! And yes, the kudus ate out of our hands! The house is rustic yet luxurious with wonderfully comfortable beds, linen and couches. The braai-area, boma, patio, pool and deck made our stay perfect! Thank you Marja and Simon! Wish we could stay longer!

Treetops is tops!! You will feel at home in this beautiful and practical house in the bush. This is a place that you would like to come back to. Even the wild animals in the area come and visit. The stoep areas and braai area with a view on the pool is some of the best relaxing areas with friends and family.

Our stay at treetops was magical to say the least... we had an amazing time. The house is hidden between the trees which gives it this amazing feeling as if you are alone in the bush. We had animals visiting daily, to name a few, we fed huge kudus, bush babies, warthogs, mongoos, bush buck, steenbuck and naughty little monkeys.Star gazing was another incredible experience. They sky is so clear and beautiful. The house is so well equipped and everything we needed was there. It was a home away from home.We were sad to go and will most definitely be back and recommend to treetops to our family amd
