About Pirates Creek Holiday Resort

Pirates Creek is situated in the heart of the Garden Route on the Touw River in Wilderness, with 15 self-contained chalets. Our up market log cabins and wooden chalets are all self-catering, fully equipped and serviced Mondays Wednesday and Fridays and not on public holidays. Each with own braai facilities and deck overlooking the tranquil river and mountains.

Pirates Creek offers Joplin's on Route 66 Resaurant; a child-friendly restaurant open daily for lunch and dinner.

The Garden Route has a Mediterranean Maritime climate, with moderately hot summers, and mild to chilly winters. It is one of the richest rainfall areas, most of which occurs in the winter months, which is brought by the humid sea-winds from the Indian ocean. Any time of the year is good for visiting the area, depending if you enjoy a peaceful retreat during the winter months or a bustling holiday destination during the summer months.

Come and relax on the river and enjoy fishing, canoeing, hiking, bird watching, or a breath taking sundowner braai experience.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage which is right on the river....that's the only good point is that the river is right there....the not so good things....R2800 is way over priced for what you get.....no fan or air conditioning, and as they are wooden houses they get very very hot. No shower only a small bath.....it is very small.....no spray head on the bath, no full length mirror.....and you can hear the cars on the n2  all the time......it is a nice resort but the 2 bedroom cottage is not value for money.......the staff are very friendly and helpful and the canoe hire guy phoenix is really...

We stayed in house 15, a 3 bedroom. Big, clean and just beautiful. Reception very good. My family and friends stayed in 3 other 2 bedroom houses and we all enjoyed the stay. The weather was very bad, but the stay wonderful. We'll be back next year.

I booked Pirates Creek and unfortunately an error was made on the price quoted. It was a lot cheaper than their actual rates, however I am please to say that the price was honored. We had a fantastic stay. The accommodation is clean and tidy with everything you need.

Arrived on Thursday 4/4/13. Chalet was a bit dusty very dirty windows. Looked like someone started to clean them but then forgot about it. Stay was ok except for the neighbour's children who was in front of chalet no 7 (our one) most of the time. On the grass and playing swingball right next to the braaiplace about a metre away while my husband was braaing.

One of the least demanding walks in the Wilderness area, the 5 km Brownhooded Kingfisher Trail follows the meandering course of the Duiwe River. Lush river woodlands line the riverbanks and the path crosses the river frequently. Take care when...
