About The Legendary Nottingham Road Hotel

The Legendary Nottingham Road Hotel was built in the 1890s and is historically known as one of the oldest pubs in KwaZulu-Natal. This old-style hotel has 14 en-suite rooms, and 10 modern Garden Suites, both twins and doubles. Set in typically old English gardens, this hotel is located in the village of Nottingham Road which is in the heart of the Midlands Meander. There is a beautiful restaurant on site serving an a la carte menu which caters for all meals. Within close proximity to the hotel is the Gowrie Farm Golf Course which is a well designed and beautifully manicured 12 hole course. The area boasts plenty of unique craft shops, fly fishing, cheese, beer and wine tasting, as well as many well known country eateries all within five minutes of the hotel. The hotel with its historical charm, warm and friendly staff and festive atmosphere is a definite stopover for any visitor to the Midlands. It is approximately one and a half hours from Durban and four hours from Johannesburg.

Unfortunately the first night some extremely drunk men made a huge noise till 2:30 in the morning and then started up again at 6:00. Will not stay at this hotel again.

We checked into the hotel with consummate ease and were made to feel immediately welcome,Hotel is old but very clean and staff friendly,we stayed in the cottages and despite being a little noisy we were comfortable and enjoyed a great week-end.Very Central and the fact that they are Pet Friendly was a big plus and our Bulldog was welcomed with open arms.
