About Happy Jackal Guest House
The Happy Jackal offers a choice of five luxurious double en-suite rooms, all with stunning river views. Guests may choose from ground-floor rooms with private entrances and garden patios, or impressively large and comfortable thatched upstairs rooms, one of which has its own outside thatched deck. All rooms enjoy upmarket facilities.
Recline in the spacious, high-roofed lounge, well-stocked with a collection of interesting books. Enjoy a game of chess or a board game by the cosy open fireplace on those chilly winter evenings. The Happy Jackal has a no-smoking policy for indoors.
Breakfasts cater to all tastes and include both a full English and Health breakfast. Home-made jams and freshly baked bread are to be found on your table every morning. On fine, calm mornings take time to enjoy your breakfast at leisure outdoors, whilst watching the antics of our resident Egyptian geese and hoopoes. Stroll with your coffee down the rolling lawns to the water’s edge and plan your day.
Big Five game-viewing on our doorstep makes the Happy Jackal in Colchester the perfect choice of luxurious accommodation. Visit the Addo Elephant Park, only 2 mins away, in our open game-viewing Landrover with our qualified game-ranger.
This river lodge lies on the banks of the beautiful Sundays River, is easily reached from the N2 and is in the best location for game, coastal or river activities.
Extensive lawns stretch down to the Happy Jackal jetty where, across the river unspoilt, natural bush, is the habitat of Kudu, bushbuck, water mongoose and Cape Clawless Otters.
Your hosts will plan and book your game drives, safaris and boat trips, offering guidance and suggestions to ensure your stay is a memorable one.
Safari: Let us take you into Addo Elephant National Park in our open safari vehicle with our qualified game ranger.
