Welcome to Duesterbrook, the oldest guest farm in Namibia, where history, nature, and adventure come together to create an unforgettable experience. Located just 50 km north of Windhoek, along the way to Etosha, Damaraland, Skeleton Coast, and the Namib desert, our farm offers a breathtaking view that will leave you in awe.
As proud members of the Namibian Hotel Association and registered with the Namibia Tourism Board, we strive to provide exceptional service to each and every individual traveller who graces our doorstep. Our colonial buildings, dating back to 1909, have been meticulously restored and expanded to maintain the charm and elegance of bygone eras. Combined with our inviting rooms, delectable cuisine, and personalized service, our dedicated team ensures that your stay with us is nothing short of extraordinary.
Embark on thrilling cheetah and leopard drives, where you can witness the beauty and grace of these magnificent creatures. Explore our safari game drive and encounter over 15 different species of wildlife and a diverse array of birdlife. As a special treat, if you stay with us for two nights or more, you'll have the opportunity to embark on an early morning mountain drive, allowing you to appreciate the stunning views and potentially spot the rare and endemic Hartmann mountain zebra.
At Duesterbrook, we offer a true sense of space, clean air, and tranquility. Immerse yourself in nature by exploring our four well-marked walking trails or embark on a horseback riding adventure. You can also unwind and cool off in our refreshing pool, surrounded by a serene and inviting atmosphere.
As caretakers of the land, we are proud to manage our farm in an environmentally friendly manner and have been honored with the Namibian eco award. In 2005 and 2007, we received three flowers, and in 2008, we were thrilled to be awarded with four out of five flowers. Aside from a select few wilderness lodges, we are the only safari guest farm in Namibia to receive such a prestigious rating.
If you appreciate the perfect blend of historical charm, eco-consciousness, untouched nature, the conservation of rare and endangered species, thrilling adventure, personalized service, and a warm family atmosphere, then Duesterbrook is the ultimate destination for you.
Our accommodation options include six double units and one single room, all uniquely furnished with a mix of antique and specially made furniture. Though camping is limited, we hold a "leave no trace" policy to ensure we do not create any issues with local wildlife.
★★★★★ We stayed at the property for 2 nights. The location and surroundings are worth the trip, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we had to ask for a lot of things, which were then done. One should offer coffee and some cake for the afternoon.

★★★★★ We were really looking forward to our stay there but due to a heavy big tree in the road to the lodge we did not get to the lodge. We had to go all the way back to Windhoek and booked in at the Protea Hotel just to get a place to stay and it was twice as expensive. I also paid a deposit and would like to know if I can get that back please.

We could not prepare a meal as the braai area is outside and it was raining, no other self cateri... Read more
