Experience the 'real' un-touched Africa
Pangani is a town time has forgotten. Once a busy port and an important trading post, going back centuries to the time the Portuguese colonised the region. Now rather dilapidated but never-the-less, a very interesting place to visit. If you like to be off-the-beaten-track and away from the tourists in parts of Africa that has not been spoilt, then this is your kind of place. It has some of the best beaches in East Africa without a tourist in sight and no beach boys. I recommend The Tides Lodge which is just south of Pangani at Ushongo Beach. Great food and a stunning place to stay.
