We had a bad experience about Berea because when arrived the Police Force threated to arrest our driver and forced him to pay R600 bribery. Thereafter we were followed by another police van to the destination. So it seem like Berea is high on crime

    Berea
There are good bad parts to Berea. I highly recommend the upper Berea as it is suitable for young & old. Nice, quiet area, close to a range of things such as Shopping Malls, the main freeway, restaurants. Attractions are about 10 mins away and the beach about 15 mins away, traffic dependent.

I found the Berea area quite delightful and centrally-located. No matter where I wanted to go in Durban, being in Berea meant I was just a few minutes drive away.Would definitely recommend staying in the Berea area to anyone visiting Durbs.
