Although our overall experience of the Park itself was wonderful, we sadly cannot say the same about the accommodation & the restaurants.
At Okaukuejo we stayed in one of the Premier Waterhole Chalets. the chalet itself was beautiful & clean, but it does not have facilities to prepare your own food, so it "forces" you to eat all your meals at the restaurant. In principle that is not a problem, but the food was sub-standard and absolutely pathetic. A great disappointment!
The shop was under-stocked (many shelves were empty and zero fresh produce) and did not offer an alternative to the restaurant either.
We stayed in the Elephant Chalet at Halali for the next two evenings. Even after I tried to clean the drain of the shower, the water was still not running out as it is suppose to. We also had to eat our meals at the restaurant at Halali and although the food was better prepared than Okaukuejo and the staff a little more friendly, it was still not up to standard for the international market and definitely not good value for money.
I would NOT recommend the higher-end accommodation in Etosha, just because of the poor quality of their restaurants.
