Excellent host

We cannot comment on Lodge 586 as unfortunately we were unable to stay there due to a baboon attack the night before we arrived, but Gavin was the perfect host and put us in another lodge nearby. Excellent accommodation, really quiet and lovely outside space too. Gavin was fabulous, met us at the airport and was available to drive us to dinner that evening as well. Highly recommended.

Lodge 586 Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate
Spoil yourself with a luxury break at a bushveld retreat. The lodge comprises of four bedrooms and four bathrooms, as well as a spacious living and kitchen area. It is a self-catering lodge that is serviced daily, but meals can be arranged on request.

Wake up to the sound of birds calling, take a walk, or drive amongst the wide variety of wildlife species that are found on the Estate. The savannah bushveld is the setting you will find yourself in, with the Drakensberg Mountains as the backdrop. When in the Wildlife Estate you will feel miles away from everything, yet you are only five minutes from the convenience of the tourist town of Hoedspruit, with its selection of well-stocked shops and restaurants. Major attractions such as the Kruger National Park and Blyde River Canyon are a short drive away.

Game drives into the nearby reserves can be arranged, as can day trips to other attractions such as the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre, Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, Bombyx Silk Farm, Khamai Reptile Park, and Hoedspruit's giant Boabab tree.
