We had a family reunion at Glencairn Beach House, with 4 couples and 4 children. It was a wonderful place to relax with kids as the garden was safe and flat and there no pool. Such child-friendly places are in short supply in this part of the world! The kids loved watching trains and vehicles and beach life pass by over the wall. With the tidal pool just over the road and the new shopping centre 800m down the road, we hardly needed to get in the car. Crossing the road to the beach felt rather scary until we discovered a bridge you can walk under to the left and a pedestrian crossing to the right near the station. It was good to find out about those. We loved our time there and can thoroughly recommend it. We are hoping to be back. It was a true beach holiday. The only small problem we had was that the container holding the detergent in the dishwasher was broken and so we had to wash by hand. Also the downstairs oven wasn't working.

The last nigh we stayed there ,new tenants joint the ground floor unit very noise from 23h00 till about 02h00. Children running around on wooden floors.. Overall still a place I will visit again.

Upon arrival at Glen Cairn beach house which is operated by Garth and Natalie Lemkus, we were greeted by Garth who quickly helped us with our luggage and showed us around the accommodation. The venue was very clean and well laid out with everything you would need to make the perfect holiday, although the venue required a few repairs, here and there, this never hampered our stay. The view of Flase Bay from the balcony was fantastic and we enjoyed moving between the beach, which had a tidal pool directly across the road from the accommodation. Our typical day consisted of day trips to the many places of interest such as Boulders beach, Chapmans Peak and Cape Town and during the evenings we spent lots of time sitting on the balcony and sipping some of the Capes best wines. We would recommend you have a meal at Dixies which is an incredible restaurant, a few minutes walk from the accommodation the food and service was excellent.

The Lodge is ideally situated for birders and is close to the departure point for pelagic trips for sea birds. The skittish Cape Siskin can be found 3km from the Lodge in the mountains.

Spectacular sea views and easy accessible! We had a great stay! Gracious hosts who was even available at 1am in the morning!Will definitely return again!!!

We may have had a few problems with our holiday but certainly not at Simons Town lodge. Natalie looked after us superbly and more than helped us with all the difficulties we were having with our airline etc. What a host she was.

And we had it for a whole week. Everything at our disposal. The hosts bent over backwards for us but were unintrusive. A wonderful stay
