This place was way more than what we were expecting. We were so surprised at how beautiful the place was when we arrived. The landscaping and surrounding was well set out. Going inside everything was well organized. The people were friendly and helpful. Even the owner was amazing. He helped us when we needed it, but he also gave us our privacy. The room was spacious, clean and tidy. It had absolutely everything we needed. From coffee and tea to cleaning detergent, it was all supplied. Its so peaceful and relaxing. Ive already recommended the cottage to family and friends. We are also planning on going back again.

I had a wonderful stay, even though we didnt have reception, but it was a beautiful place and Ill book again the next time I go to Durban.

We had a fabulous two weeks at the Rocky Pool Guest Cottage. Nicky and Johan were terrific and I hope to see them again sometime real soon. We first stayed in the Penthouse and then moved down to the cottage and both sets of accommodation were more than comfortable and very nicely set out in a really South African theme. We had a lovely deck to sit on each morning to have tea and watch the troop of monkeys come through. The pool area is truly lovely and our family had a super time visiting us there. If you want a truly special evening ask Johan to make you some pizzas in his outdoor wood burning oven, they are seriously the best we have ever tasted. I would recommend to anyone wanting a truly super holiday in South Africa, stay at the Rocky Pool Guest Cottage. Thanks Nicky and Johan, your hospitality was amazing. Mariane, Ralph and Inga

We had a refreshing stay and enjoyed our time, we loved the view and hospitality.

Rocky Pool and Guest Cottage is a lovely place for those who are weary and tired. It is quiet and calm. It is placed in a natural environment with monkeys and birds making you feel like you are resting in a jungle. The trees and flowers on every side makes it beautiful and naturally magnificent. I liked the fact that it is located not far from shopping centres. My entire family found great satisfaction. I really relaxed my mind and felt fresh. I highly recommend the place to any one who is planning a moment of refreshing and rejuvenation.

When the last day arrived I wished I could extend more time but it wasnt possible because they were booked already. In short I would like to recommend Rocky Pool as a perfect place for somebody who needs to refresh their minds.

The place was very clean and it met my expectation. The owners were very friendly to us as well. I was booked at the lodge and we were two couples staying there. The place was like a home to us, even though our stay was very short but we had fun.

As a person from Johannesburg and coming to Durban and especially to Rocky pool for a time to relax was a much need time for me and my girls.

And I will recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the north coast side of Durban.

Our stay at Rocky Pool was fabulous! The cottage is lovely and it has a stunning view. My children thoroughly enjoyed the swimming pool and trampoline. The steps down to the cottage are quite steep but still managable. Nicky and Johan are awesome hosts and made us very welcome. The family dog was also an unexpected delight! It was a very nice cottage in a beautifull garden and splendid view over the ocean. The pool was very cosy too. The owners were very helpfull and friendly. It would have been nice if there was also a parasol, because in the early morning it was already quite warm in the sun and there was no real place in the shadow.

We had our honeymoon at Rockypool cottage and it was absolutely amazing. Gorgeous log cabin and SO romantic! An idyllic, tropical setting with a heated swimming pool, and air-con in the cabin made our stay absolutely enjoyable! We highly recommend this amazing place.

Nikki is very friendly, the place was neat, clean and well maintained. The pool was great and the kids had fun on the trampoline and play area. Oh, make sure you have cash because there is no card machine.

The pictures are taken at such an angle that it is impossible to see the 60 to 70 steps you have to climb down to get to the cottage and then up and down for the rest of your stay. Other than that we enjoyed our stay but will not return due to the stairs.

The place was really great. Perfect for a weekend break, but probably not for too much longer, unless it is being used as a base for enjoying Durban. We loved the garden, pool and braai area (were really disappointed that it rained all weekend, and we couldnt make use of it). Our original planning was as a romantic couple but due to a tragic event in our family we had to take our 3 year old son along. Nicky and Ron were fantastic. They accommodated us with our booking dates that had to be changed due to the tragedy and had no problem with accommodating our son. Our stay was lovely. The cottage is really delightful and the gardens beautiful. We experienced the Durban humidity quite a problem and I would suggest that a aircon be installed. Other than that I would highly recommend the cottage to anyone and will also be back in the future. Kind regards and all the best.

Thanks, Nicky and Ron for creating an atmosphere which I found relaxing and peaceful. Beautiful ocean view and greens which I have not enjoyed for the last five years. Very nostalgic and somtimes emotional to see what I have left behind when I relocated. Bungalow- very clean,very private and very comfy. Would recommend to anybody who wants the best of both worlds- city partying and private beach life.

We stayed in the lodge which was newly renovated, this to me was neatly done and was really a wonderful 2 days we spent with Nicky and family. We will definitely be back soon, and a well done to Nicky for such a lovely environment and stay.

As a newly wedded couple, my husband and I had an absolutely fabulous stay at Rocky Pool Guest Cottage. The Guest Cottage was neat, and beautifully designed to cater for it's guests. The area was very peaceful, and we especially enjoyed the natural surroundings, which we dearly miss in the Urban areas. Our hosts Nicky and Ron were so friendly, and were always ready to assist.
