I was impressed by the way my query (regarding the Guest House) was dealt with by both the manager of this site, and the prompt reply from Lorraine at Jubilane!
Because I travelled on the last plane of the night, and still had the drive from the airport to Houghton, I arrived at Jubilane very late at night. Lorraine and Lindiwe were absolutely lovely about the very very late hour.
The event for which I had travelled to Jo'burg from Cape Town (in the middle of the week!!!) was bound to be hectic and a bit stressful . . . "exhausting" is a fair description. However, on walking into the gracious, quietly-but-elegantly furnished suite, I knew that I'd be happy there for twice as long as my booking was officially for!!! And I've certainly arrived home in Cape Town with the definite aim of sourcing Jacuzzi/spa baths for my own bathrooms!!
There were children in the house when I was there, but they were totally inaudible - and when they were around (a couple of times at breakfast) they were lovely to chat with.
This is a well run, well ordered place to stay, kept excellent by the management - and I truly loved being there!

Jubilane Guesthouse
Jubilane Guesthouse is nestled in the up-market community of Houghton Estate, a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. Jubilane Guesthouse is approximately a 2,900 square meter colonial-style home. Nearby points of interest include Rosebank Mall, Virgin Active Sports Facility, Houghton Golf Course, and Camelot Day Spa to name a few. Jubilane Guesthouse is central to Johannesburg City Centre, numerous attractions, fabulous restaurants, and wonderful shops. Our competent staff will happily arrange tours, safaris, and make reservations at some of Joburg’s most famous restaurants. Finally, there are a host of venues to enjoy live theatre and music that include Globe Theatre at Gold Reef City Casino, Civic Theatre, and Kippie's Jazz Club.
