All Comments for Shongololo Holiday Flats

Our stay was OK, but although it was spacious it is in urgent need of tender love and care            what needs attention is  Curtains , cutler, dishes, cooker, furniture and painted. The bathroom needs to be replaced.  The patio needs retiled and the hand rails require to be replace.  All in all it needs a complete face lift.                      

I always sleep there if I'm in Durban because they are so friendly,is a nice and quiet area and the flat is spacious and well furnished.Great value for money

Shongololo holiday flats is a comfortable, homely BnB. We found everything we needed and Mark (the owner) was very friendly and helpful.

We spent a week based at Shongololo Holiday Flats on what was our first visit to Duban, during our first visit to South Africa having previously spent a week in Cape Town. From the time of booking Marks advice on making the most of our visit was priceless and while we were in Durban he couldn't have been more helpful. We were especially grateful for the loan of the cool boxes and binoculars for our safari. I would not look for anywhere else to stay if returning to Durban and would recommend Shongololo Holiday Flats to any friends or family visiting Durban.

We had a fantastic stay at Shongololo. The family flat is very spacious and and accommodates a family of four very comfortably. It's Durban North location is ideal and access to the M4 is really quick and easy. The service was good and unobtrusive. We really had a comfortable stay.

Great location, friendly, informative and helpful owner who gave us great tips on things to see and do. The couples apartment was much bigger than we expected for a reasonable price. It was a great stay with very friendly and helpful hosts. It was quiet, secure and in a walking distance to shopping facilities and restaurants. We were even able to do our daily walk through the streets.

We stayed in the accommodation in November for a week. There were 4 of us, 2 little boys, my partner and myself. The place was very clean and well kept and the landlord was very kind and attentive.

We liked the non-intrusiveness of the owners. Two bedroom flat needs upgrading and the bedding is a bit tired but there was a lovely family atmosphere and all in all we were able to relax and enjoy.

Place was clean with attention to detail like chocolates on the pillow and biscuits for tea. We appreciated those small gestures. Hosts were friendly and helpful. We will return there when we are in the area again.

Great value for a big cottage that includes everything you need and is situated close to various fast food outlets and Spar, etc. Hosts are very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

We had a wonderful stay at the Shongololo Flats for the World Cup 2010. Mark and his family were especially helpful with transfers as well as being a fantastic guide for the beautiful city of Durban. The room was clean and spacious and has everything you would need for an extended stay. The area is very safe and in a great location, convenient to both the city and airport. Hopefully we can spend more time on our next visit and take a safari!!

Our stay at Shongololo was magnificent. Both flats were lovely and furnished with both bedrooms being very spacious. Mark was a freindly and helpful host. I do recommend staying at Shomgololo.

Really a nice clean, spacious place if you are looking for space, privacy, owners who are there for you but are "not in you face". We'll definitely stay here again.

This was one of the hilights of our trip. The flats were well equipped, wanting for nothing. Mark and his family were so welcoming and Mark must be one of the nicest and most helpful people we met. His tour of the game reserve was so informative and knowledgeable, and we saw so many animals. We had a wonderful stay in Durban. Highly recommended!!!!!

Herewith my comments: The booking was handled fantastically. The location was perfect. Our party stayed in the one bedroom, two bedroom as well as the backpackers flat and found that the apartments were clean, neat and spacious We were there for a full week and were perfectly comfortable. Just a bit of constructive criticism though – the kitchen cutlery and crockery should be reviewed and upgraded. Otherwise a good value for money holiday break. Many thanks, and thank you to Mark Joseph who was the perfect host who would go out of his way to be helpful and friendly.

Our family spent a week at Shongololo Holiday Flats. We really enjoyed it..... The apartement was nice and big with plenty of room for all of us and it was close to everything you needed. Mark, the host, and his family took really good care of us and gave us so much information and service. If we go back to Durban someday are we definitly going back to Shongololo Holiday Flats, it´s a fantastic place to spend your holiday...

On our arrival we were welcomed spontaneously and with warmth, definitely haven't experienced this behaviour in a very long time. We could not have asked for better accommodation for our short stay in KZN, central - especially if one does not feel like driving long distances. We recommend Shongololo Flats to all holiday guests and we'll know where to stay on our next visit to KZN. We thoroughly enjoyed Mark's company and were treated like kings.

We really enjoyed our stay in the spacious flat. Umhlanga with its nice beaches and the Gateway mall is a 10 minute drive north of Shongololo.

Flat was neat and clean. The owner was very friendly and helpful. It was worth every penny we spent on accommodation, which was not expensive. If I should go to Durban again for a holiday, Shongolo will be my first option. Really enjoyed our stay there. Shongolo, hope to be back there December.
