We had a most pleasant stay. It was comfortable and the hosts were friendly. Umhlanga is a peaceful city.

Spacious rooms, wonderful location near the Umhlanga coast, shops and restaurants ( only 2 minutes away ). Wonderful people ( Peter, Cilla and Sandy ) who really make you feel at home. We stayed there for 9 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. Safe neighbourhood. The breakfast is "baije lekker" ( really tasty). It is really worth every cent/rand you spent. No effort was to much to help you in any way. Peter, Cilla and Sandy many thanks for a wonderful stay, we will come back again!!!! Rob Ormeling-Knutzen and Arnold Knutzen-Ormeling.

August stay at Anchor's Rest

From the moment we arrived at Anchor's Rest; it felt like home ... away from home. Our hosts (Peter & Cilla) made us feel very comfortable. The room we occupied was decorated well and is maintained with great care! The daily breakfasts we enjoyed were absolutely mouth-watering ~ what a treat!! We truly enjoyed our stay at Anchor's Rest and would love to re-visit it sometime soon!!

Anchors Rest Guest House
An easy walk to the shops, restaurants, coffee bars, beaches and vibrant nightlife areas. Enjoy a sundowner or nightcap in the inviting bar and guest lounge, which leads onto a sea-facing patio. Choose from a selection of rooms, where you can pick a luxury suite on self-catering basis, or a standard room on a B&B basis. All luxury suites have private entrances and patios with barbecue facilities, en-suite bathrooms, open-plan bedrooms and lounges with fully-equipped kitchenettes.

All rooms are air-conditioned with ceiling fans, personal DStv decoders, hospitality trays, personal safes and hairdryers, all of which are provided to ensure your stay is as relaxing and comfortable as possible. A full English breakfast is served daily, plus many other delicious items to tempt your palate, including fine Ceylon tea, fresh fruit juices and steaming filter coffee. Wireless Internet is available throughout the guest house. There is a heated swimming pool, secure parking, daily laundry service and a qualified in-house tour guide. Car rental and transfers can be arranged to suit guest’s needs. Master and Visa Cards are accepted.
