About Namwi Island Campsite & Self-catering
Namwi Island is situated about 10 km from Katima Mulilo and lies on the banks of the Zambezi River.
Namwi Island offers comfortable accommodation in chalets and various camping spots. All self-catering chalets are cooled with a fan or with air-conditioning and have private en-suite bathrooms, except the Budget Chalets that share ablution and scullery facilities with the campsites.
The shady campsites are situated on a huge lawn and each site has an electricity point and a braai area. A modern ablution block, equipped with hot water, a scullery and a laundry room is shared. For your convenience, a kiosk is situated on the grounds; it sells ice, braai packs and wood. Please note that there are no credit card facilities, bar or restaurant on the grounds.
Namwi Island is the perfect location for outdoor activities like fishing, canoeing and birdwatching. Guests can also make use of the inviting swimming pool or go on boat- and fishing trips on the mighty Zambezi River. The beautiful sunset cruises will take your breath away.
The natural surroundings, luxury accommodation and many outdoor activities will definitely make your stay with Namwi Island relaxing and memorable.
Please note that the rates for the Family Chalet is subject to the number of guests staying, hence we advise guests to request the appropriate tariffs. When booking a campsite, pensioners and children receive a discounted rate.

Ons het heerlik gebly en gekuier.Lieflike skoon gerieflike plekke.Dankie Miemie jy is n groot aanwins vir Namwi
We are a group of 12 adults from the North West province in South Africa that recently visited the Caprivi and made use of Namwi Island Campsite for accommodation. It was an amazing experience and will certainly make use of them on our next trip through the Caprivi! Thank you so much for your kind and friendly hospitality!
Our experience of Namwi Island was average. We were not happy to find that there is no launching place for our boat although we were told we can bring our own boat. The water edge has withdrawn extremely back, obviously this is not Namwi Lodge's fault but if you want to do serious fishing, inquire beforehand what the water level is. It was very disappointing to find the water level so low. No wifi available - make sure your phone is open for roaming. The lodge itself was very basic but pleasant.
Namwi Island was again a highlight of our holiday tour. Well managed and neat.
Beautiful and well maintained grounds, with green lawns (!) and lots of big trees. Ideal for campers and self-catering. And for birders. Pity no boating or birding guides were available.
