Description
Stone's Throw Cottages is the collective name for 2 quirky, luxury self-catering cottages in the beautiful little town of Parys, the "Antiques Capital of the Free State". Both cottages are part of the Green Gables Estate, and are situated in lush and beautiful gardens with access to the sparkling pool at Green Gables. A 2-minute walk will get you to a beautiful part of the Vaal River.
The first Cottage, "Stone's Throw" has been decorated as a fisherman's cottage, with Art Deco touches in honour of the town's "antiquing" theme. It has a lovely bedroom with a double bed and bathroom with bath and shower en suite. The living area is spacious, with a day bed for an extra guest (or child), the full bouquet DSTV, dining area and small kitchen with all the mod cons. French Doors open onto a huge covered "stoep", complete with comfy patio furniture and Weber barbecue. Perfect for lazy summer days or late afternoon socializing after a day of fishing for yellows on the Vaal or hunting for antiques in the town's many shops.
The 2nd Cottage, "Last Tango" has been decorated with a tongue-in-cheek French twist and is newly renovated. It offers exactly the same as Stone's Throw, but the main bedroom boasts a Queen Sized bed and there is a 12-seater table with seating on the patio. It has a shower over the bath in the spanking new bathroom. Just like Stone's Throw, it offers full bouquet satellite TV.
The cottages are rented out un-serviced, but service can be booked at an additional fee.

Stone's Throw has 1 double bedroom with en-suite, with a day bed in the living area, which is perfect for a child or an extra adult. A mattress under this day bed can be used at night for a 4th guest. It is self-contained with its own kitchen living and dining area, DSTV and a large veranda with barbecue facilities. It has been decorated as a fishing cottage with art deco touches and has a lovely electric "mock fireplace" to keep it cozy during the cold winter months.

Last Tango has 1 queen bedroom with en-suite, with a day bed in the living area for an extra guest. The extra guest will have his/her own access to the bathroom and shower. This cottage is newly renovated in a pseudo French style with quirky touches. French doors open onto a lovely wide veranda with a 12-seater table for al fresco entertaining and a weber.
