About Kleinmond, The Town: Nestled between rugged mountain and the ocean, Kleinmond is a peaceful crime free coastal town on the edge of a unique biosphere reserve boasting 1600 species of indigenous plants and declared one of the planets 'World Heritage Areas'.

It is very conveniently situated for the tourist, within easy reach of Cape Town to the west, Cape Agulhas (the most southern tip of Africa) to the east, and the winelands of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek to the north.

Kleinmond is renowned for its abundance of lobster in summer and whale watching June to November.

What to Do: From the covered veranda at Kleinmond Panorama Whatch Whales frolicking with their calves in the shallow water near the beach, or try and spot the legendary herd of Whild Horses, grasing on the edge of the lagoon.

Golf: Various excellent courses with-in easy reach. Kleinmond Golf Course with beautiful mountain and ocean vistas is well kept (green fees only R120, with discount for groups of 20). The Arabella course, rated one of the best courses in the country, only 8kms away, also boasts a world class hotel with top rated Wellness Centre.

Tennis Courts across the road, and very popular Bowling Greens next to it. Nearby Hiking Trails have views you can only dream of. Sun Bathe, Swim, Canoe and Wind Surf at the white sandy beach and lagoon, or take Long Walks along the shore. Visit the Casino at Caledon with SPA and centuries old Mineral Baths, Botanical Gardens, Penquib Colony, Bird Sanctuary, the picture perfect Old Towns of Greyton and Genadendal.

A round trip of 195km will take you to the heart of the Winelands through Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, and back along a most scenic marine/mountain drive (our own Amalfi), with lots of time to taste wine, dine and take pictures.
