Description

Welcome to Chartwell Country Lodge and Ubuhle Nature Spa: The smell of the sweet country air and the aroma of freshly baked scones and roasted coffee beans, all of this and more, just a few minutes from a host of cultural, wildlife and entertainment attractions.

Travel from Chartwell in a North-Westerly direction to find history and culture in the form of the Cradle of Humankind, Wonder caves and archaeological sites, Maropeng Museum, Lesedi Cultural Village and more.

The area is full of wild-life viewing opportunities with elephant, lion and cheetah, crocodile and rhino parks on the doorstep. For a different kind of "wild-life" experience head in a South-Westerly direction for only a few minutes to arrive at the Barnayard Theatre, Four-ways shopping mall, Designer Quarter, Cedar Square, Monte casino entertainment and casino complex. Fine restaurants, pubs, theatres, cinemas all abound in the immediate vicinity. The Lodge does transfers to and from major centres including Lanseria airport 12 kms away and O R Tambo formerly Johannesburg International 38 kms away.

Wellness & Spa: "Relaxation", "pampering","stress-relief" are all key words for this spa, situated close enough to J'burg's business hubs to provide an easy, tranquil mid-week or week-end breakaway.

Honeymoon Romance: A delightful room under thatch with it's own entrance and balcony. Large bathroom with spa bath, big enough for two! There will be welcoming champagne and fruits and sweets bowl. Candlelight and petals complete the ambience for a romantic evening.

Conference venue: The lodge is tranquil, serene and perfect for executives to “brain storm”, with no interruptions and no other conference delegates to invade your privacy; we have one conference room.

Why travel far to find peace and quiet? I got it all at Ubuhle spa. After my treatment and late lunch I slept until the morning and hubby was happy with his birthday treat. Thanks.

Took my wife for weekend away to Chartwell Country Lodge to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. The gardens were pristine and first impressions were very good. Staff was very friendly. However, on being taken to the honeymoon suite, the staircase was a bit daunting with a wobbly landing and also quite a steep incline. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chartwell. Graham and Jolie were the most welcoming hosts, made us feel special. The spa was an amazing experience. The rooms are spectacular, pretty and absolutely comfortable. Thank you very much for a fantastic pre-wedding night for the bride, she appreciated and enjoyed it very much!

My husband was thoroughly surprised when we arrived at the lodge (he thought we were on our way to a client). Our fourth anniversary was a perfect honeymoon experience at Chartwell. The room was stunning - not to mention the hot tub big enough for two. We were spoilt. It really felt like our wedding night all over again. The spa was just as stunning. I'd recommend this quick honeymoon/anniversary getaway to anyone with a romantic bone in their body. It simply was fantastic.
