It also features a fully equipped bar with cooler fridges, external dining area with gas braai, extensive sun decks and sunken rim-flow pool. The path through the private indigenous garden leads to a shaded swing at the very edge of the cliffs where the ocean views are at their most magnificent.
Stilty Bird house offers a state-of-the-art home entertainment system, including plasma screen TVs (with DSTV and Surroundsound), DVDs and centralised hi-fi system allowing music to be played throughout the house and terraces.
The impressive double-height TV lounge features over-sized leather couches and pebble gas fire. This leads to a spacious dining area (seating 8 people) and a large, fully equipped kitchen offering every possible amenity including dual fuel cooker, built-in microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer. A full bar with drinks fridges opens onto the extensive stoep. There is also a separate utility room with washing machine, fridge and dryer.
Each of the 4 bedrooms (2 double, 2 twin) has an ensuite bathroom and a private patio or balcony. Other luxuries include solid wood flooring (with underfloor heating), separate staff accommodation, off-street parking for up to 4 vehicles and double lock-up garage with electric doors. Linen, crockery, glassware and cookware is provided, along with pool towels. (Guests are asked to bring their own beach towels.)
In a unique lagoon-side location between the majestic Outeniqua mountains and the Indian Ocean, Knysna is surrounded by deep forests and vast expanses of natural fynbos. The town is is dominated by the Heads - the impressive sandstone cliffs at the mouth of the lagoon where Stilty Bird House is located. In addition to Knysna’s famous oyster bars, there are many fine restaurants and cafés catering for every taste.
Exclusive fashion boutiques, fine art galleries and craft shops can be found in the Knysna Quays, shopping malls and town centre. The surrounding area offers unlimited opportunities for sailing, cycling, hiking, surfing, bird and whale-watching and game viewing.
