Description

Welcome to Sandriver Lodge where you will be warmly accommodated in a ‘rustic fisherman cottage’. Marc & Anneke May invite you to be part of a relaxed holiday environment. Sandriver Lodge is centrally situated across from the village and a minutes walk to the beach.

Named after the majestic expanse of natural dune system Sandriver Lodge accommodates many different needs. Whether you are a traveling family, a working business person, or a couple looking for a break, all our suites, self catering or overnight, family size or smaller have private entrances, tea & coffee facilities and are all en suite.

All rooms are designed with their own character, with a nautical feel. We look forward to seeing you.

This unit is definitely something different. Our romantic net drapes the head of the double bed. The sun streams in from the North facing sliding door. The TV is on an old wooden box and the door of the bathroom is only ½ a stable door which swings back to show the string of shells hanging from the shower, shiny copper pipes running rustically along the bagged white walls. The toilet roll hangs on two wooden pegs – too cute.

An old fashioned dresser and cupboard go together with our tiled floors in shades of blue and brown, making this unit feel like home, and it is revisited by guests year after year. A long stoep outside has a small roof, so you can leave the door open to watch the finches in the trees, even if it is raining.

This was where it all began. Our three bedroom, three bathroom house, with kitchen, dining / lounge area, spiral staircase, covered stoep, dense garden (including fairy garden) with braai area, was once our reception, offices and dining room when the lodge began in 1997!!! This comfy holiday house sleeps six in two double bedrooms each with bathroom ensuite, and a twin room. There is also a third bathroom with a corner bath. Families continue to revisit this house for their happy St Francis holidays.

The spacious bathroom is separated from the room with a ½ a stable door.

The decor create an atmosphere of the simplicity and pureness of a sea cottage. The kitchen is so well equipped. Everything is so clean and well maintained. the hosts are so warm, friendly and Marc even gave us two fishes he caught earlier that day. St. Francis Bay is the most beautiful little town and we felt so save and relaxed. We were really sad to leave and promised ourselves that we will linger a little longer next time.
